Congratulations, !
Challenge complete
Come back tomorrow for your next challenge

Great starting I know it can feel overwhelming putting your finger so far away but this actually is helping your fingers get used to what’s next. Keep on going you got this.
Finished early but I can’t find the 5 day challenge that Tony talked about in the “What should I do next” video. DO I need to wait until Monday?
thanks
3rd day and feeling im at the right pace without any pressure being in the comfort of my home
and taking my time to read and apply myself…
Having trouble getting my fingers spread that far apart making the D string buzz
I find it hard to stretch these fingers between the 3rd. and 5th. frets but it’s a start ! Cord changes are another challenge but here I am !
Struggling to get started … but starting I am!
My fingers struggle to reach the third and fifth fret. Lol. Are there exercises for the fingers?
Start in morning Tuesday around 10am
Completed 30 Days to Play!
I have learned a lot so far. However, changing chords quickly & smoothly while having a good strumming rhythm is way off. I will keep plugging along and trust the process.
LEarned a lot and enjoyed it.. Believe I now need to move on with TAC. How do I get started?
i will wait, i will wat for me 😉
Tony
How to stretch your fingers to reach 3rd and 5th fret
underway – trying to mark things complete but comes ‘undone’ Otherwise all good.
Cheers, Mark
OK, very excited to think that one day I actually can play for my pleasure. When I was younger, I tried on and off to teach myself disaster while I could play a couple chords, but not great but I’m excited with your lessons.
Hi Tony Just joined up. I think you are missing a trick – should use fretboard highlights as it’s difficult to see where you are fingering on the videos – despite your verbal descriptions. Have a look at Tim Fagan’s tutorials.
Good start, I have improved since Friday, first time ever to play an actual chord
I did it! actually easier than I thought. Smoke on the water is a cool song.
Okay, off to a good start. Not perfect, but musical and recognisable. Stretch for the ring finger but moving up and down the fretboard and sounding not bad.
Did it from my phone, which is how I saw the offer. Will need to transfer to computer so I can see better and follow easier.
Mostly review so far for me.
Where is the HELP function on this program? I seem to be stuck in the 30 days to play mode and I can’t find HELP. HELP!
I’ve owned a guitar for 10+ years, took lessons for a couple months. Never got the hang of it but it’s been a dream of mine for a long time. I’m hoping this time is the magic.
Yikes, I’m totally second-guessing this purchase right now. Wish me luck!
back at another go at learning the guitar. first challenge for me seems to be stretching the fingers. Even this first power chord lesson is very difficult. The first finger 3rd fret with ring finger 5th fret is…a stretch. Ring finger is barely making it to the beginning of the 5th fret. I’m told that will improve in time but any other advice
Ok.
I’m getting a slow start. Primarily because my fingers don’t cooperate and the tips are still why to soft.
Im still in day one of being a guitar player. Im excited to learn the blues but my fingers are my biggest issue, I cant quite get my fingers in the right position. Is there exercises for fingers that might help me?
I am really hoping I cam succeed here, as at age 80 the fingers aren’t as flexible as they used to be. I will exercise them daily in every which way (oops – within reason) to lead my success.
I just started over from the beginning. How do I do this
Trouble with stretching my ring finger to the fifth fret, beginner.
First few wins were opening up the case, dusting off the guitar & following a YouTube video on how to change the strings. Neat project for my husband & me. Found a tuning app & here I am, two years after buying the lessons.
Power chord on day one! Quite a start! I was a little discouraged to see my ring finger refusing to cooperate, not wanting to go where I wanted, but at least I see I’m not alone. A fantastic community that shares its experiences and can encourage us with our limited abilities.
I am using my phone how do I get back to this site
Hi Rick! It looks like you are a new TAC Member. We are happy to have you with us. To log into TAC just head to the site here: http://www.tonypolecastro.com and choose Login.
Struggle with the spacing of my fingers (complete novice)
love the lesson, but I have stupid, short fingers. I purchased a Woods guitar at a yard sale from the lady across the street. The neck seems narrower than other guitars, but the power chord in lesson one was a real stretch to get my ring finger over to 5th fret.
Ok, so what’s the trick for getting your fingers to reach? Is my arm too stretched out? Too close? Is my palm in the wrong place? My ring finger won’t reach and I’ve got huge hands. Is there some hand exercise I should be doing first?
How do we get our ring finger to reach to that position? My wrist starts to cramp up with the force of trying to reach and press.
So I go to replay it and it is all choppy.
I must be having fun,
ten minutes fly by. When I check my timing, I’m always way over time and going strong.
10 mn is only if you have no time…. we play because we love it!
OK. Tough getting fingers to right spots
Me too
Excited to actually start playing my guitar!
Enjoyed playing and trying not to think of it as practice. Fingers need help!
I struggle with my ring finger. can’t spread my fingers out they always want to come back together.
COOL
wow my fingers don’t stretch from the third to the fifth fret.
I loooovvvveeee the simplicity!!! Thank you Tony!!
Fingers already sore and tough on the wrist. I’m sure it will feel more natural eventually.
.
Hardest thing is the solo, getting the pick and the frets to coincide without mistakes is super hard. Hopefully it will improve with time. On to the next.
I struggle to get the proper spacing between of my fingers. it feels like my fingers are not long enough
Was extremely excited to get started, but feel that my fingers are too short and can not stretch far enough. May be giving up before I even start.
