  1. After debating for quite a while before jumping in, I am surprised and disappointed to find my first experience has been met with multiple server errors and huge lag times from the server. I hope this improves.

  2. What is a workaround if your fingers don’t have the “spread” to cover both 3rd and 5th frets. I use my pinky but i am closer to the 4th frets bar than the 5th….

  3. I finished the 30 day challenge in ten days. I’ll need to go back and review some tutorials but hammered it out. I spend an average of 40 minutes a day, my fingers are starting to feel okay and I’m not dropping the pick after each strum. I do occasionally miss strings on scales when attempting to pick faster but power through it. I’m having fun!

  4. I’m really enjoying this! It is definitely a great refresher from having last played many, many years ago, and I’m picking up things I didn’t know along the way, too. I finished the 30 days in under 30 days even when I was unable to practice on some of the days. In addition, I found tabs for a song I want to learn to play, so I’ve been practicing that along with the lessons here. It started off really slow, but I’m getting up to speed and having a blast with it. Now, if only I can learn to sing and play at the same time! Any pointers?

  5. Last week I completed the free 5 Day challenge and could not pass up the opportunity to join. I wake up everyday looking forward to picking up my guitar and working on the next challenge. Really looking forward to this and love the format and how easy you make this feel! Thanks Tony! Can’t wait for the journey ahead!

  6. Totally frustrated with this whole process so far and it has nothing to do with the guitar! Hella time signing in and now surfing between lessons isn’t smooth and even the ability to write this note in this section has given me grief! I hope this gets smoother. I was reluctant to do this…hope I don’t regret it.

  7. I am using an IPad and I am unable to have both the video and the tab displayed at the same time. I have tried using the tow box icon but not luck so far. What am I missing? Thanks.

  8. Im really enjoying this guitar journey. I actually did 5 Day Guitar Routine and Im using those warmup tools you gave us. Looking forward to digging into Wagon Wheel in a few minutes. It’s been a fun ride, and it’s really just starting. Thanks!

  9. What if my fingers can’t make the shapes you are asking me to make? I can’t get my third finger on the third fret, low E, and get my ring finger on the 5th fret, A, without causing a lot of pain. I tried using my pinky instead, which helped. But both my pinkies are crooked. Like I said in my profile, I have some physical challenges that I will need help getting through. Thank you.

  10. Moving along slowly. Too much rust in fingers and not enough calluses so far. More time will surely help but it’s easy to be impatient.

  11. I have been moving along, not proficient at each step. Still building calluses and finding it a bit easier to isolate strings during my chords, but I have problems getting my fingers to cooperate, just can’t stretch them into position on some chords. Tried the “ain’t no sunshine”, I was lost right out of the gate. I can’t figure out the fretting and how to strum without a pick. I’ll keep reviewing and trying.

  12. This last 3i0 days has been the most I have learned on my guitar since I bought it 4 years ago. After listening to my brother in law who has played for 60 years I finally found a guide, thanks Tony!!

  13. I have played a bit before, and was able to complete the 30-day challenge in 375 minutes over 8 days. This was good, in that it exposed a weakness I have…strumming. I will be entering the 5-day challenge today and look forward to knocking that out. Oh! And the soloing…While I think I can here bits and pieces of notes (did you call them phrases?), it’s going to be a while before I can string anything cohesive together. Looking forward to picking that up (no pun intended) in future lessons. Thanks!!

  14. Finished my 30 day challenge. I like the encouragement to keep moving. I’ve done more in four weeks than I imagined possible. Ready for the next challenge.

  15. This was an excellent way to ramp back into guitar. I was pretty regular with lessons about 20 years ago and then stopped–the 30 Days to Play course certainly reminded me of some things and introduced me to a couple of new ways at looking at things. Looking forward to consistency and picking up my guitar every day.

  16. Very fun to begin this process. I’m determned to learn how to play this thing? I found it difficult to stretch my fingers to hit the third and fifth fret – the notes did not sound good. I’ll keep trying…

  17. I had to work a bit to maintain the practice routine through 30 days to play. At about day 3 of the 5 day routine, the dopamine kicked in. Now it’s fun! My fretting hand is getting happier and stronger, and picking more accurate. Ready to start TAC and looking forward to it!

  18. Started Bill Withers “Ain’t No Sunshine”. Very Challenging lots of fun saved to favorites so I can stat Monday on whatever song is presented this Monday. Also I can go back to it when I have the time so I can become proficient at this song I love. I think that is how the program goes or maybe there is another 5 day challenge before I go to the regular weekly songs.

  19. It’s been about 30 years since I last held a guitar. Thankfully, I remember the strings, posture, many chords, etc. So, I’ll be quickly reviewing the Primer to make sure I’m still doing things the right way.

  20. I was playing along just fine, completed the first 30-days to play and now I am lost. Where do I go from here? I purchase a 90-day program rather than starting out with a ful year. I’ve been at it a couple week and don’t know where to go from here. Can you please point me in the right direction.
    Many thanks
