  1. This one is definitely getting archived for me. Very difficult to get my fingers spread far enough with the wider fretts. I’m not bad with the single notes but this day got me. lol!

  2. Good stuff. I started out using a pick, then realized Tony was finger picking which is much easier. The last few weeks have been really fun.

  3. Lots of distractions , late starts in the last couple weeks. Took me 2 full weeks to get through vibrato instead of 5 days, BUT I played nearly every day and eventually got it all under my fingers. The twitchy motion needed does not come easy. Seems like completely new neural paths need forged!
But I think it is happening, slowly. Anyway – it definitely is something I want to develop. Thanks Tony

  4. This one came more easily than some. I might be cheating, because my guitar has nylon strings and that makes it easier on my fingers! This was one of the few that I’ve been able to play right along with Tony. A small win!

  5. Great challenge. Started late ( 2 g-sons in the regional hockey championship) but I was able to go through the challenge in three days, with success – by my standards, that is. Using vibrato with chords was a discovery for me. Thx.

  6. The good thing about the Friday lesson, you have all weekend to work on it. Feeling good about everything we did last week, ready for the month of May!

  7. Jumping to the 25th challenge right after the 30 day challenge was a pretty big jump. I was so surprised that I could do it! I just wonder what I missed with the other 24 challenges???

    1. @jingabagmail-com the challenges have no ranking, the only sequence is Day 1 to Day 5, meaning Fridays are typically more advanced than Mondays and Tuesdays. New members may jump in any time of year and pick up right where the rest of the TAC members are. You might come in during one of the more challenging weeks or the opposite. Just do as much as you can and mark it complete, whether or not you think you were able to play it to your satisfaction. There is learning even when the challenge is beyond your skill set, you just try to learn a little bit more than you were able to do when you started.
The difficulty of each challenge varies and there are often different levels within them so that more advanced players can take them to higher levels. I would say this was a unique week where beginners and advanced players were all essentially doing the same thing.

  8. Just did Thursday and Friday’s challenges today (Sunday, UK time) as I needed a break.

That Friday one was fun, despite the fact I have back ache!

  9. Small win this week- new techniques for applying vibrato. I can actually find the rights notes. I have also learned new locations of the D7 and A7 chords.

  10. I really enjoyed this lesson. My fingers are starting to learn how to prepare for the next chord. At first sliding down the neck would leave my fingers in array but the more I practiced, the more my fingers naturally found their position. Still working on “It has not gone away!”

  11. Easy, enriching week. Too much technique focus for too long gets boring, but that was a good little focus week. My victory was playing for the last two weeks even though I was out of the country and successfully getting my new guitar back into America without spending an arm and a leg on shopping and baggage fees. She pretty much charmed her way onto the plane for free 🙂 now she is sitting in my music room (guitarsenal, if you will) with her new friends listening to me try the last five vibrato excercises on my other guitars!

  12. Easy Breezy! Got it and even did it on the faster speeds. What I like about the challenges is that I pick up the names of the chords up the neck rather than just at the first frets. Also, learning the proper names of the three types of vibrato techniques is helpful, ie. rather than saying the wiggly technique, I can now call it the confined technique!

  13. This was the easiest week thus far, and I’ve been on TAC since July 2024! My small win was that after three try’s , I was able ( a little) to keep up with Tony on the playback video!

  14. I knew a little about vibrato but still learned a lot. My big win this week was listening to Day 4’s challenge and playing a single string solo over it. That was a lot of fun and it even sounded good.
