Lesson 4 of 7
In Progress

Interpretations of the Same Rhythmic Pattern

In this lesson, you will become aware that although the rhythmic divisions look the same they can be executed a number of ways (all of which are correct) so that you can vary your approach to rhythm and have diverse offering while accompanying another player or yourself.

  1. Sorry I have been away so long. A kick back on a tablesaw caught my right hand with various levels of damage to thumb and all four fingers. Seems to be healed and ready to continue on this journey

  2. Nice review, coming to this after 115 sessions in the other course and Fretboard Wizard. I wish I had this lesson before trying to take Ballroom Dance lessons 6 years ago. It helps understand the timing, and the alternate pick direction really helps keep up with rhythm and not lose track.

  3. I’ve never strummed this well in my life … some has got to be for playing every day and a lot is tony actually explaining the strumming patterns and variations.

  4. Well, that was fun!
I probably picked this up quicker than any other lesson to date. Maybe… just maybe, I AM a guitar player! It’s beginning to feel like it!

  5. I REALLY enjoyed this lesson! I will be coming back to this one time and time again. Thanks for this! The strumming makes a lot more sense to me now.

  6. I somehow missed these lessons. I’m so glad I found them. They are fun to play and learn, and add dramatically to the music.

  7. Been away from practice for a bit. This peaked my interest and was fun to play. Still find myself losing track of where I am in a strum pattern. Good practice on focus and concentration.

  8. Great lesson . Still problems with c chord that once broken middle finger dosent curl enough for a clear D string . Working on hand position.

  9. Sigh…if only I could consistently pull off a C major chord. Any-whoo, I got the eighth notes with down-and-up strokes so I’m headed to bed after a win. Amazed with the progress that I’m making and what I’m learning along the way.

  10. Good lesson, Tony! As I’m traveling I left my guitar home but I’m absorbing your lessons. Definitely will add value to strumming I’ve been doing–and being “obnoxious.”
