    Every time I am away from my guitar for a few days (vacation, etc) I have the same paranoia that I am going to forget how to play or something when I get back and pick it up again. So far this hasn’t happened and the couple days away from it were actually good for me.

    I have been working on that rhythm forever. It is so hard to do the walk down on the A string into the c chord while trying to hold the high notes of the G chord as you do it

    If you intend to record vocals consider getting a D.I. Such as the two channel model by Saramonic. This allows you to plug in two microphones and balance the volumes individually. I don’t have the software so I just have to get it right when I’m recording but if your software allows two channel input you can adjust the individual volumes between guitar and vocal later

    In my opinion a song can never have too many G runs. The hard part is not breaking the flow of the song when transitioning in and out of flatpicking and strumming. You have to be so fast just to play a slow song. I can’t imagine how somebody like Billy Strings does it in what sounds like fast forward lol

    The most important thing about music that I have learned was from watching Beavis and Butthead on MTV years ago.

    They were watching a Metalica video and Beavis was complaining about how slow and boring certain parts of the song in between the heavy choruses was. Butthead then explained to him how you can’t rock out the entire song or else you won’t be able to tell when the good part is lol

    Thx guys. As I start to learn how to strum I’m actually finding it harder to play slow songs .

    I had trouble deciding on a strum pattern so I think I actually used 3 different patterns in various parts of the song. as I am learning how to strum I’m actually finding it harder to play slow songs. I also need to work on adding accent strums.

    It seems like overtime I am now able to reach things that used to be impossible for me. And if it feels like your hand just doesn’t work that way, don’t fear that you can’t do it and that’s it the road ends here. Thats not it. It will slowly and pretty much unnoticeably get better over time. It’s just going to take awhile.

    About a year ago I went through all of the skill challenges courses and could only physically complete about half of them. I went through them again this year and was able to do almost all of the ones that I couldn’t do last time. Still have a few challenges left that I just can’t contort my hand into such away but maybe next year….

    I once met a time traveler who told me “ don’t worry the future is gonna be great”

    The counter is kind of cool to look back and see how long you have been doing it but that’s about all it’s used for. If it’s not working don’t feel like you’re going to miss out on anything. The site doesn’t really use it for anything

    Thx. I’m not sure how well they work together but I felt like the fingerpicking was too monotonous.

    I need to work on starting to use the pinky to weave melody notes into the chords to spice it up

    When you say you’re trying to reach the low E with your pinky what is it that you’re trying to do? Are you holding a certain chord?

    It doesn’t let you do that anymore unless you saved them in your favorites

    <div>
    </div><div>One thing I’ve learned is that what seems impossible now will eventually become easy no matter how impossible you think it is at the moment. You’re asking your hands to do things that they havee never done before. After some practice once you have built the muscles and mind/hand connection it will seem easy. Dont give up. The only way for anyone to get better at guitar is to practice things above your current skill level. You have to keep reaching out further and further as you get better</div>

    I too am better after taking a few days off. I dont even really how tired my forearms get which affects my strumming arm accuracy as well as left hand. My left hand tends to grip the chords too tight when fatigued leading to finger dents that make it even harder to fret cleanly. Plus if your repeatedly making the same mistakes somehow taking a few days off to reset helps the mind/muscle coordination improve. The real prob is I hate taking the day off and have to force myself to bot pick up the guitar sometimes for as much as 3 days

    I have both of these and can say they both work great. The g7 is great because it is more adaptable if you have a guitar where only one string buzzes after being capo’d
