    Congratulations on your guitar journey.

I will say this for the new site. Despite the fact that it has kind of been downgraded (as far as the forum side of it goes) from a 5 star restaurant to a 4 star, my recent experience with another guitar learning juggernaut as justly compared as being McDondalds to our 4 star restaurant here at TAC.

I don’t think the user experience is likely where the TAC team wants it to be currently and I am content to let things progress as far as the site goes.

In the end, as the forums mature, and the bugs are worked out, the Forum content is generated by TACers, so I think the community will survive…

Now if I can only get notified when someone responds to a thread I have posted in, or determine what is a new thread with no responses easier, I would settle for that as a short term win.

I thought I had replied to this… I get logged out 1 out of three attempts to reply to forum posts though, so maybe not…

Nice win, thanks for the post, it is encouraging (I said more before but…)

Thanks for your insights. I signed up for the fretboard wizard, as I understand it starts up next month, though I can see I can get started whenever… Just want to be in sync.
I use a timer when working with my son, for me it would just aggravate me if it went off because I spend a half hour at least, but it does wonders for him! So I can agree with that gem of advice.

That’s cool! I am hoping to have the second half at slow speed by the end of the week. My picking hand still gets confused. I know I need these flatpicking exercises, so I give them extra time. It is so awesome to hear about this kind of progress. Very encouraging especially when it is for a skill that I am deficient in!

I have been diagnosed with adult ADD (the lack of the H in there is helpful).
I can tap into the super power of hyper focus that comes with it, but I have to be really interested in what I am doing, and that leads to overdoing it sometimes. Advice I got in another thread made me rethink the timer thing to bring me back to my senses when I do this to myself (shoulder and elbow are tired today because of it)

When something is boring I think about everything else and can’t sit still so, I have that going on too.

    Thanks Jeff,

I am brutal with myself. Someone mentioned a timer in another thread so that you could see that your time was almost up… Kinda like waiting for the end of school.

I think I might use that to apply the 10 minute rule to make myself stop instead.
My shoulder and elbow have had enough for today!

    Thanks for the advice!

I have studiously ignored looking at the source code for the page to see if the browser incompatibility is in the HTML/CSS
That ain’t my job anymore… it could be other things too, but with just chrome seeming to be able to use the site… dunno
