  • Todays Lesson delivered a huge #smallwin

Posted by AttyTJ on March 29, 2021 at 10:16 am

Crosspicking Calamity was fun. As is usual for me, when Tony teaches a lesson requiring a chord to be held, after working the lesson and that chord, I move the lesson to other chords (and today all major and minor open, and some barre chords). I got to the F, and the Full F——-g F barre chord delivered the #smallwin of being hard, but, you clearly hear when you have not formed it correctly. And now I have a cross picking exercise and a Barre Chord exercise that make these two sadder parts of my skill set stronger and better. (Even tried the dreaded Bm barre).

Whee are you seeing the daily lesson? When I log in the daily challenge screen is blank. That being said congrats on the win. The F barre is still a rough one for me.

@StevenB , which browser? Chrome and Firefox, clear the cache, Safari, there are instructions in the “Get Unstuck”. Sometimes, a full refresh will work. Sometimes, log out and back in will work. It’s partly a browser display issue, usually.

Yeah, I was using Safari. Couldn’t get it to work no matter what I did. Ended up going with Chrome, which is working fine. The daily lessons are working good for me, but the forums are super slow.

@StevenB I too was not getting the daily lesson to show on Firefox. I had to switch to Google Chrome to get it. I don’t know what the problem is with Firefox, I’ve always used it to get TAC. 🧐😎

I stopped using Safari for Firefox a long time ago and long before Edge then moved to Chrome.

Whatever the issue is, there is a piece of code somewhere, either in the browser, or in the control code for the new site that doesn’t play well with others. And my guess is, they can’t find it, cause it is an intermittent glitch, and until rollout, they weren’t looking for it. Hopefully they can make it easier for everyone. I think I counted 9 different browsers in the Get Unstuck, so someone has their sanity at stake here.

      Hopefully not us.

I have studiously ignored looking at the source code for the page to see if the browser incompatibility is in the HTML/CSS
That ain’t my job anymore… it could be other things too, but with just chrome seeming to be able to use the site… dunno

That’s awesome TJ. That’s what I’ve found about finger picking, and flat picking would do the same, when you’re picking each string, all your chords have to become more precise. And of course, the barres are the most challenging. This is great practice. Good for you.

Great win, @AttyTJ ! 👏I find the Cm and Bm barre chords much easier than the F. That one extra string…

Nice 🙂 I played around with the barre chords yesterday as well – the more we do that that stronger our fretting fingers get. Keep at it.
