@Mrfredsporty that “feigned” confidence is perhaps letting go of your inhibitions and you are hearing more of how you might / could actually sound! Great win! 😃

Hey there @the-old-coach , it seems a useful and fun learning method to me! This approach would help focus on chord transitions and how well you actually know the song. One idea to offer: How about break the speed playing into sections? In particular if there is a section of the song that presents a challenging chord transition or is devilish to remember you could speed round this section to get it nailed. Finally, one more idea: as you speed along, do a mental and audial check on the time and quality of the sounds (guitar and voice) you are making. Is it possible to combine speed, tonal quality etc.

Thanks for sharing your technique! 😀

Great win @Mrfredsporty ! You may find that you will be able to adapt song keys and styles to your current voice evolution and love hearing yourself sing! It could happen! 😃

Yeah @Cadgirl not sure what is going on there. I tried to upload a pic in that post. It showed up initially and then disappeared. I finally gave up. Just imagine a smiling Tony image!

Good that you recognize that in yourself @subsailor731 ! Maybe you need to write yourself a couple of alternative “sub routines” that allow you to implement some hacks! 😃.

Hi @subsailor731 , we all adapt our playing to our physical (and perceived) capabilities. IMO there is nothing wrong with using both techniques as you are learning in addition to building your fretting hand dexterity and strength. That said, I have found that when I am attempting something that is “new” to my fretting hand it does sometimes feel as though my hand just doesn’t want to cooperate. When this happens I slow down and then deliberately use different fingerings and approaches to explore what is possible. It takes some work and patience however before too long I find that my fretting hand adjusts. For me this evolution takes less time the longer I have been playing every day (even for short periods)

@Cadgirl sometimes we can all be (including our computers) be a bit neurotic from time to time! 😃🤔😜
