Loraine, thank you for your reply. I did not know there had been a site change 2 years ago. But I see a significant change of style within the past couple of months. I definitely prefer the “older” stlye which seemed more challenging but I completely understand that Tony is catering to thousands of people, not just me. Thanks.

Hi @Kitman. Before I watched the lesson I looked at the TAB while listening to the play through. In the play through, Tony goes up and down three different scales before playing the chords. But the Tab just shows the “up” part of the scale. Then it shows the chord shapes, then it shows several ways to play portions of the scales at different places on the neck, e.g. the tab and the play through are quite different, which I’ve never seen in any other lesson. Anyway, once I watched the actual lesson it all made sense. Thanks!

Hi @Bill_Brown, I appreciate your thoughts on this. You said it yourself, if someone says Cm 1-4-5 you know those chords will be minor. And if someone says E 1-4-5 you know they are talking about major chords. So there is never a need to specify whether an individual chord is major or minor – the key tells you that. I’m sure you’re right – Tony is just driving home the point. Thanks.

I take your point. I will follow the lessons and trust the process. Thanks!

I just did day 2 of week 2 for fretboard wizard. The lesson was about changing major chords to minor and vice versa. As you know, this involves sharping or flatting the 3rd. To do this you must know the notes you are fretting so you can find the 3rd. I really think memorizing the notes on the neck is critical to all of this. I am having a hard time understanding why Tony never says something like “no one likes wrote memorization but the reality is you must learn the notes to move forward with theory and playing.”
