| Why I'm Here |
A kid from Michigan in the late 70’s I worked a few summers in Yellowstone. It was then I discovered Bozeman, the soup and bread special at the Bacchus Pub, and a nice little music store. I bought my first guitar at the Back Porch Picking Parlor, a Sigma Martin dreadnought that I still have in my collection. I banged on that poor guitar for a few years through college back on the shores of Lake Superior. Life happened after graduation and the old Sigma hung out under the bed, lonely and unplayed for many years. I regained the passion for playing in 2007 after a life changing event. Guitars and guitar playing gave me a much-needed way to get through a difficult time. I’ve never had lessons or played out with others, so I’m undisciplined and poorly trained. Time to change all that.

Being a better guitar player is important to me because I know there is a lot of room for improvement, and I need the challenge!  I have some really nice guitars, and they deserve better too. Maybe one day I'll play something that makes my wife look up from her book and say "that sounds nice".
