Well, that was a pretty great attempt there! Love the other instruments surrounding you… and that awesome piece of art as well. How long have you been playing?

    Hello MNG –

Wow! Doing a live stream takes some courage and hoozpuh! Congrats on taking that ‘next’ step!

I got my first guitar when I was 38 (I am 55 now). I learned what I knew from youtube and picked it up and put it down several times through out. I have only been doing TAC for about a month and already feel like I am leaps and bounds beyond. I also enjoy it and pick up the strings every day! I simply love it. Congrats on becoming a lifetime member. If I keep this up like I am – I may end up doing the same.

    Thanks for sharing…

    Peace…

WOW! Great job! Great song… great voice and great playing! Live performances are tough in the beginning! I have not played but I have done stage performances and it takes a while to get some comfort doing them.. There is always a rush right before. The key is controlling the adrenaline rush while performing. I am so very impressed and so happy for ya.

You def are not deformed … LOL

I can stretch my ring finger ok but that pinky is another story. I am at the beginning of my journey here, but one thing I would suggest is looking a the stretching vids. I started the finger stretches and have been doing them for about a week. While I still have a ways to go, I can def tell its helping. I do them several times a day. It is really helping with finger dexterity. Hang in there!

Hmmm… I think I will try playing my electric to see how that goes. Good job though. Thanks for sharing! Every time I watch someone it gives me a little more courage to also post a video.

Honestly, I really appreciate your comment. I did start playing/learning/noodling several years ago. However, had not picked up a guitar in about 3 years until December (right before I joined TAC). I definitely had the very basics – like basic chords and decent strumming technique and have tried to do some finger picking stuff in the past. I just never excelled – never able to play barre chords, never understood how to incorporate licks and certain finger picking patterns… that type of thing. So, I became frustrated and felt like I wasn’t improving. I gave up… :/

Because I have been playing on and off for so long, I feel like I should be way ahead of where I am. I actually put the instrument down because I thought maybe I just wasn’t cut out to be a player. That is the whole reason I started TAC – because I needed direction. I need a different way to learn this stuff. This is my last HOORAH, so to speak. LOL…

I just love music and I love guitar. It makes me happy. It makes my heart pitter patter… 🙂

    Anyway, thanks!

(Also, I am sitting… lol The camera was just too close to see that.)

I guess its onward and upward from here…

    Thank you kindly….

I am going to be honest, this is the first guitar that I have ever been able to get a barre chord to half way play! One thing I never knew anything about is the “action”. On all of my other guitars, which are much cheaper, the action was way to high and the strings too thick/big (I don’t know terminology well). This guitar the action is lower and the strings are lighter… makes it much easier to play.

    Thank you for that 🙂

I have been trying to play on and off for several years (about 16 years or so) but have never been able to play barre chords and stopped trying. Now, at least I am getting some sound out of them. I always just strummed and tried to do some Travis picking but never got very far with that. So.. def not new to playing but just never got past the basics. Also, I played that so many times over the last few days I was dreaming about it lol…
