So sorry to hear about this, ouch! You are the most positive and always sunny TAC member! Your plan while recuperating sounds good. I hope and pray your healing goes well and you feel better and stronger each and very day. 🙂

@zman All these tips are spot on! Warming up and stretching have helped me quite a bit. Tony has a good course here at TAC land… Skill Courses/Getting Started/Daily Stretches for Guitar. Good luck :)!

The space , back space worked too! Thanks!!

This is obviously a late reply! 🙂 I’ve been a beginner at the classical guitar for almost 45 years on and off now!! 🙂 🙂 I used a stool forever. My back started hurting on the side with my foot raised. I switched about 5 years ago to a Dynarette guitar pillow. You place the pillow on your thigh, and now your feet are flat on the floor. Relieved all the pain! Although the pillow is designed for the left leg (classical guitar style) I have moved it over to my right to play TAC/folk /steel stings…works fine. The pillow raises the guitar about 4-5 inches….I too would get sore feet from one foot on another, wrapping feet on chair rungs, etc.
I looked up the Dynarette pillow…apparently they have fallen under the ‘supply chain problem’. There is a similar pillow from Oasishumidifiers.com…under Acessories…under Guitar supports. I also switched to a smaller stool, so my legs form a 90 degree angle with my floor…helps my back!
You may also have a small pillow at home that is just right…save some $$.
Sorry if this was so long winded!! Good luck!

Hello Mike, The tips from ‘the old Coach’ are spot on! Practice= automatic!
You may also consider supplementing TAC with an in-person guitar teacher.
Like Coach said, I am no teacher or expert, but a teach may suggest a change in posture or hand position to fix a problem?
Just a thought.
Best wishes and keep at it!

Hello! I agree with all the good info Loraine has posted. When I started TAC last year, the Daily Challenges were good, but it felt like a losing battle.
Soooooo, I repeated the 30 Days to Play and the Getting Started lessons again.
Don’t be discouraged and keep at it!
Dust off those rusty strings just one more time…. 🙂
