I use the evaporative type of humidifier. They come in all sizes it is a matter of SqFt of the room or house you are humidifying. I like these because they are simple and easy to operate, not too much to go wrong. I have had mine for 7 years and all is well. They are also the most energy efficient so low cost operation is a nice benefit. Cheaper to humidify than to dehumidify.

The important thing to remember is the Daily Challenge is not meant to be easy….it is meant to be a challenge. If you are having a tough time with the daily challenges it is by design, know you are not alone. They were designed to be tough, but not impossible. All the advice to slow down is spot on. If in Ten minutes you only get the first measure that is a win. If you get the first note in time consistently that is a win. This session builds on the last session and the next session will build on this session. Hit the lesson for 10 focused minutes and you are on your way to improvement as a player. Do this day in and day out for a few months and then look back and see how you have changed as a player. I have seen extraordinary results even here on the Play For Us section. It is really fun to watch, especially my own progress over time. Watching others progress is pretty cool as well.

Nice focus @mcarlson_sb , life always gets in the way. I have to carve out the time to play because I love it and it challenges me to manage the other stuff that falls from the sky so that there is room for even a small 10min chunk of time no matter what. Keep rolling down the road.

Jasmine s35 was my beach/camping guitar and I found it easy to play and not having to worry about it was a bonus. I found the sound of Yamaha’s FG 800series a little more complex but it is a little more money. Scour your local craigslist: both the jasmines and yamahas show up with high frequency and can be had for a 50% or greater price reduction off of retail. Very often they are brand new guitars or barely played.

My problem is every minute I would be playing the cheap one, all I would be thinking about is what it would sound like on the other one.

Where do I find the vinyl copy? I would ask for a CD but I have not advanced to that technology level yet.

Take your foot off the gas? Take your foot off the GAS? Heck no. My only advise is buckle your seat belt and hold on. The ride is super exciting from here on out. : )

@David_Leo the brand I have is Idyls. It is designed to humidify 3000 sqFt. It does not have a filter but rather it has wicks, paper wicks that should be changed. They get gunky and stop wicking. I have used a roll of paper towels in a pinch and it seems to work fine too. I go about 3 months or when I notice a decrease in performance of the humidifier. Frequency is totally dependent on your conditions. When I was in the dessert (ambient humidity in the low teens) I would fill it up daily. The one I have is 4 gallons.

I am with @albert_d no negative impact. Positive impact would be the same as taking up any new instrument. Lots of crossover theory and if it captures your imagination and fuels your fun pick that bad boy up and play it. Remember it is a different instrument and visual similarities are such that thinking they are the same is understandable. The feel is completely different. Neither good nor bad just different if you like that sort of thing. I am on the High School Band Audition Judge side if things: I am afraid it is just too darn loud, next. (yes that is the aucoustisnob in me raising its ugly head.)

Something I can understand. I knew a trillion was a lot, now I grasp a deeper meaning.

Yes, anyone who professes to be a professor is over my head. I just know what I hear. It is all about the vibrations: pushing them together and pulling them apart. God I love analog instruments. I spoze I could chat around with prof Cox if he is talking about that sort of thing but honestly I would rather he just grab guitar so we could play together. Tone-versations are so much more revealing than conversations.

Song of the spheres: I can hear it. I know you can hear it. Can we translate it for the world to hear? I can hear the conversation between Einstein and Pythagoras, some sweet harmony there, probably talking in the 432hz range.
