Loving your story @mkjohnsons , keep up the playing. I got tired of thinkin bout a studio so I turned every room everywhere I live into a studio by just not puttin stuff away, hehe. Good luck with yours.
You made me laugh with your George Harrison comment…no one is he for sure. Only one of those ever made!

Sometimes I threaten the floor with a vacuum and it seems to cough up picks especially in the vicinity of my Persian rugs.

Do you have any video from a year ago to compare with your current ability? I found accurate assessment to be an important part of my improvement. Left to my feelings I underestimate my actual progress especially early in my journey. I found my progress never met my expectations. Not saying that is your situation but looking to clarify your improvement metric.

Solid determination @Dleonard10 , glad you are done and feeling better. One of my favorite Acoustic Guitar artists was triple vaxed and is dealing with it now too. She got pneumonia as a result and is slowly getting better: no hospitals but still a drag. I am encouraged by your story and your participation in the TAC community. Thanks

I am liking that win @darcelle . I use a dry sponge on the scour side to dress my strings followed by a good wipe with a soft cloth (rub until the color does not change on the cloth) to extend life a bit. May work for your corroded Bstring. Wonder if Santa Cruz would send you new if you told them about your “new” corroded B string?

far as I can tell that is the nuts and bolts of CAGED. Similar to what Fret Wiz is without the interaction and way more condensed: less explanation. It looks accurate and precise. In the end it leads back to CAGED: cant get away from it….kinda like gravity. If you study Shin’s material you will understand why.

Hi @bixentelizarazu : cool handle and if it is really you even cooler. I was given the short end of the stick on talent so I get it. Try not to think of the daily lessons as things to play but rather as exercises that make you better at playing other things. They are the weight room of guitar playing. Slow them way down. Do them one or two measures at a time. The demonstration Tony shows is an example of someone who has been doing 10 sets of 20 pushups for many years. When I started I could barely do one. Now with lots of determination and many repetitions I keep up with Tony. It all started with one note though. Give it a good 10min go and move on or if you loose track of time all the better. You will progress over time but it takes some time and as long as you stick with it you will progress.

Hi @KristyG , 2021 was a weird one, no doubt about it. Even so hanging out here I was able to eek out small win after small win. The key was to play everyday no matter what. I wish you fast easy progress for 2022. See you around the forum.

Hi @Wandalee , what to tackle next?: Daily Challenges. Start on those. They are the gymnasium for your fingers and brain. They will seem like a lot at first but take the time to work out a measure or two. Play for precision first then accuracy then speed.
Addressing the hand hurting issue: get some extra light strings, less tension means less force needed to produce a fretted note. Also you can tune down and put a capo on to reduce string tension even more. This should give your hand a chance to catch up on the strength curve. Last thing is make sure your guitar is set up properly meaning your strings are not so high above the fret board as to cause you to exert additional force to fret notes. A luthier can help you with set up (fee based usually) or if you are mechanically minded you can do it yourself with a bit of research.

Hi @mkjohnsons , I do the same as Loraine. Wipe down (especially strings) after playing and thorough cleaning when I change strings. My luthier showed me all I ever need are soft cloths one barely damp emphasis on barely and one to wipe any residual. I do one fret at a time and keep at it until both cloths no longer pick up dirt. Same deal on the body. No wax no oils no polishes for me. My oldest guitar turned 100 last year and all is well.
