Pete is correct… it isn’t about perfection! I definitely have struggled with wanting it to be perfect too quickly. It is way more about little wins. Everything we practice in life usually has bumps in the road. It is supposed to be somewhat of a challenge.
I can 100% honestly say that I’ve had these feelings in several recent daily challenges, but by the end of the 10-15 minutes, even if I’m not playing anywhere near perfect, I’ve improved. It may be very small improvements, but the mentality of progression (no matter how small) vs perfection is the way to approach this.
I’ve even taken that approach to my work outs, career, etc, and it has certainly created a better mindset for me.
Keep it up! You’re on the right track!
Cheers!

Nice! Sounds like we’re in the same boat. I love this method and can agree that it has gotten me away from fiddling around with the same old stuff and trying new things. Cheers!

Congrats! Momentum over Mastering is right… I’ve taken that motto and have started applying it to a lot of things in my life (working out, career, etc).
Cheers!

Great comments! Appreciate all of the thoughts.
Yeah, I’m just going to keep practicing, knowing that it will continue to “click.” I can already tell I’ve improved over the last month.
Interesting anecdote… when I started, I used very thin picks cause I felt that it “covered up” the mistakes a little more. I’m slowly growing accustomed to the thicker picks. I think my favorite right now is a 1.0 Taylor Thermex Ultra.
Thanks, all!

Thanks. I can’t believe I haven’t intuitively thought of it that way. I know I’ve probably heard that too, but I guess it just hasn’t clicked yet. Thanks!

I’ve been a mediocre guitar player for about 20 years and I don’t think I’ll ever play the mini F chord the way it is presented in that tutorial. I’ll probably dabble with it here and there, but I just do the traditional full barre F chord for that one.

So once you’re ready (sounds like you are), go ahead to the 5 day routine! Once you complete that, you will be able to access the daily challenges.

Yeah it is a little confusing. If you are just starting to play guitar, I would recommend finishing the “30 days…,” followed by the “5 day routine” which gives you everything you need to start the daily challenges.
Have fun!

Nice job! Tricky/quick chord changes, for sure.

I usually have the play-along going while having the tab pulled up (as he shows during the 30-day beginner course).
Are you saying you wish he had the chord diagrams on the video?
