Tried it again this AM, with a fresh and better attitude, using (what I thought was) the suggestion PhilB said. It wasn’t pink this time- but it was a whole pile of chicken scratch— letters, numbers, symbols, etc— with no way to open any video.

Again, I am very respectful of our Forum and all of you TAC members- and sorry about all this confusion. I’m very thankful for all the nice comments and help, but feel like I’m trashing things in this thread. What a mess, huh?😕

There are many things I wish I could do—- including post a video, golf my age, and fly.

But I remember one of my old line-crew foremen once told me- “Wish in one hand, and crap in the other….. See which one gets full faster”.

Applying this to me posting a video— I think I have found my “bridge too far”.

The white flag is out until I can regroup.

I don’t give up easy….. so just for the heck of it, I tried one…. last…. time…. to get the video’s “link” onto a post in here.

And it WORKED. I clicked on the (now)-highlighted video-link-thing, and it came on, and I watched it– right here in the TAC Forum, right here in my post!… (Just like normal!)…. Don’t ask me how or why, but it worked. And I could “highlight” it just fine– but all the while, the whole post was still in a PINK box.

Anyway, so, on purpose, I went all the way back thru the “Forums” process- (just to see if it was accessible for someone just “walking up”, I scrolled down to where the post should’ve been— and— again— like yesterday— POOF, gone.

Maybe there’s something in the “pink-post” that’s messing things up. Any thoughts on that?- Anybody seen that?

I’m gonna walk away for now- because I can’t afford a new laptop right….. I give up.

Well- that didn’t work. The whole post turned PINK(?), and the “link”- (I think that’s what it is)- wouldn’t “highlight” (so that I could watch it).

I really am sorry for looking like such a d*mb*ss with all this. I’ll try again at some time- and I really appreciate all the help, advice, and patience. I’m SURE the problem is with my own inabilities- (like THAT’S a surprise🙃).

That was weird. I posted a short video right in here- watched it- (right in here)- posted a second video, came back “in” to see if it made it “in” also…….. and they are BOTH…..GONE. Poof! I don’t know if I did something wrong or not– but it’s wearin’ me out. Will try again some time in the future. Sorry about all this. theoldcoach

Update if anybody’s interested.

Got my test-videos made (3). All good there.

Got my YouTube account all set up, and got my videos over to my “My Channel”– within YouTube. All good there, too– (I think!).

Now—- I just canNOT figure out how to get them from YouTube into TAC’s “Play For Us” section here in the Forum. I have watched most of the suggestion/videos and still can’t get this last part done.

It’s been a TON of trial & error so far for me- all this video/Youtube/TAC. The buttons they say to “simply click on……”, I can’t find, to get them to move- (or copy I guess)-to TAC.

This is maybe the easiest part to you-all who are good at this stuff. As for me- I never was good at it! I’m at a dead-end.

I must just be missing a step or a click or something. Don’t know how to “paste” or “copy” or “drag” from YouTube to TAC.

Short update. (well. short for me.)

First off- THANK YOU all, for all the help and advice!

I don’t know if anyone else is “weird” about making videos and posting them here in TAC, but it’s always been that way for me- maybe my trials and tribulations will help others.

Anyway, I got the camera and recording figured-out- (using my laptop)- sort-of.

I hope to find a way to edit-out PARTS of a video clip while leaving the rest of it alone. Or— maybe putting two or more short sections of different videos TOGETHER into one video. Any advice out there? Being able to do those things would be a big help!

I haven’t had the time to watch any of the videos you all sent to me- (time constraints)- but I will indeed get to those.

With your help, and some trial & error, I’ll get this figured out.

Maybe others are “watching along”, and all this will help them, too.

Thru the dozen or so experimental videos, I found that having the camera ON made me feel like I needed to be EXTRA careful about smooth movement between chords, and also focus on CLEAR notes within the chords.

I liked that part- it pushed me to be even MORE careful and accurate than normal. Good stuff.

Thank you for assuming that — I’m— not the problem in my efforts to post a video.

Videos get posted all the time in here- (and I LOVE watching them), seemingly without issue. Logic points back at -ME- as the problem. And I’m frustrated about it, but also in a way OK with it.

I think my ability to not be able to post is likely to be a “you don’t know what you don’t know” thing. I’m missing something in the process somehow- but I don’t know WHAT.

If I’m doing something wrong- I can fix that…….. but I don’t know what to fix if I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

I have the baggage of being REALLY not computer-smart. I whole-heartedly give many thanks to the great folks in here to offer the steps I need to follow- trouble is, for the most part, I don’t understand them much.

I’ll keep pokin’ around….. I’ll get it figured out……. If I accidently DO post a video– I really, REALLY hope I remember(ed) how I did it🙃.

No smart phone- (that can’t really surprise you, right?🙃). And I’m OK with that.

That stuff all reminds me of when “really cool” calculators came out back in the early 70’s….. 20-some functions and no one knew how to use more than the add, subtract, multiply, and divide… but damn, there were cool because there were 20 more things they COULD do!

I asked my wife to help with this, and she said she would, but she’s the person who would do it FOR me when I wanted to make and post a video. I want to be able to make & post videos just on my own.

I’ll get it figured out — likely thru a bunch of trial & error. I was just hoping someone would poke their head in, and explain it in easy-er terms.
