Welcome to TAC! Hope you really get into it. It’s helped me no end in the 9 months I’ve been here. As for your song success that is when you know you are starting to get somewhere. Well done. You should post this on the ‘Small Wins’ forum so more people get to hear about your success or try posting you first video of it here on the ‘Play For Us’ forum. Keep on rockin’ 🤟😎🎸

The improvs are always tricky for me at the moment but well done on this and doing the V2 with the backing. Really important to track how you’re doing and have some fun trying out different licks. Now where it gets really interesting is when you come back to the same one next year and try it again to see what’s changed in your playing. Keep on rockin’ 🤟😎🎸

First off happy TACiversary @mkjohnsons! Well deserved. So many resonances with my guitar journey here- another “COVID-baby TAC-er” (love that!) after 41 years of picking up my guitar and then putting it down again, scrape off the dust every few years but no progress at all. I would echo everything you said about joining this community and the fabulous support people give to us ‘noobs’. I’ve had assitance on everything from picks that won’t fly out of my fingers when flat picking, to barre chords (and why I can’t do them). I’m glad your first year has gone really well and here’s to year two! I’m 9 months in to TAC and will definitely be signing up for year 2. Keep on Rockin the fretboard. When you’re George Harrison and I’m Jimmy Page we’ll have a jam…
Take care Darren [Moonhare] 🤟😎🎸

That is so refreshing hearing an American get so passionate about Spurs vs Arsenal! The original team was made up of workers from The Woolwich Arsenal where munitions were made for the British Army from the 1700s. So I guess Americans probably have even more reason not to support them after the slightly peevish exchanges between George’s redcoats and “the colonies” back then.
Have a great time playing. Guitar football geeks unite! Darren [Moonhare] 🤟😎🎸

Very Grateful For This CommunityWhat an epic story stemming from so much heartache, and a reminder, if any were needed, of what a unifying force music can be. Working for an Environmental Charity myself, restoring rivers and fish migration routes in the UK, I can tell you just how important your contribution has been. What a wonderful thing to be able to do with your music.
Really all there is to say is Happy TACiversary and well done on all the milestones throughout. Keep on rockin’ – Darren [Moonhare] 🤟😎🎸

It was a horrendous tragedy and unfortunately unlikely to be the last such dark day. Captured it beautifully in the timbre and feel of the music and the lyrics. 😥

Sounds fabulous. Are you using finger picks as well as a thumb pick or do you just have great nails!

Wow, great to hear that connection with Dunkirk. As for the gig next month I am definitely interested in that. I checked out her Brighton Toyshop performance on YouTube after seeing your pist on Guitar Geeks and she sounds just amazing. I’m just checking it doesn’t clash with anything else we have on that weekend then I’ll sign up.🤟😎🎸

Hi @albert_d . Yes you are quite correct and apologies that I forgot to say the tuning is DADGAD, which is really popular among folk guitarists in the UK. I find whenever I try out different tunings it gives me inspiration to play something new.

At the moment I’m running it through my studio desk into various effects, compressors and amp models so I can record into Cubase. But the PRS SE Standard has two humbuckers that you can coil split – so for a beginner like me it will at least give me access to the Gibson like sounds I love (ah Jimmy Page!) as well as the Fenderish single coil sound (for my Pink Floydy tones).
