I strongly agree with @jumpinjeff and @marty69 about videos. Even if you don’t post them on the forum (which I do even when they are not quite there yet) it will give you a dispassionate assessment. Something else I did last month was redo the 30 day challenge after 7 months of TAC. I could do those at 2x speed on returning to them but couldn’t do more than 1x at the time. That was a big surprise. And the other thing I do is pick something well beyond what I can play each month, then slow it down to where I can do it and just keep going with it. It is working. Keep at it and don’t get despondent. 🤟😎🎸

Inside the guitar seems to be my favoured spot although one of my Larkin Poe plectrums went interdimensional bewteen Christmas and New Year. I blame Dr Who!

Power through the 30 days – it us a great starting point although your fingers won’t thank you to begin with. Remember there are lots of folks here to offer help and encouragement along the way. Have a great guitar journey. 🤟😎🎸

Sounds like you had a blast and what a great win! Must try to organise something like that here in the UK when Covid finally releases us from it’s icy grip. 🤟😎🎸

There’s a lot of fun stuff you can do finger style. I love it but I have to work a lot harder on flat picking. Well done on getting this under your belt and I hope you have lots of fun with it going forward. 🤟😎🎸

Well done on 6 months and your delayed gratification on the guitar buying front. I only lasted 50 days before splashing out on my acoustic! But getting an instrument that plays really well can be really inspiring so if you’re fully invested in your guitar routine I’d say go for it. New year and all that! 🤟😎🎸

Well done! Definitely worth celebrating and a great start to the year. It is something I attempt but generally I get about 3 to full speed.

Hi there @AttyTJ – I am in Suffolk not far from the coast near Woodbridge. Moved here 6 years ago and I love it.

I have quite few friends in Australia including some guitar players but I’ve never heard of these ones. Thanks for the recommendation.

Sounds interesting. I’ll look those up. I’m going to order several different types and see which I get on with. I understand it can also make a difference to the tone you get.

Hi there @Beatrice – I would love to get onto the UK VOM. Where do I get the details for that?

Hey thanks so much. I kind of know what I want to do although obviously my guitar dexterity isn’t quite there yet but it is great fun and things are moving faster than I expected if I’m honest. Happy new year!🤘😎🎸

I have found it a very interesting experience taking on TAC this year. I have struggled with barre chords and flat picking but found fingerstyle comes a bit more natural but I have realised that doing what is truly difficult is how you move on and so I’m trying to do that during the week, then the weekends are just pure fun and playing what comes more easily. All the best with you guitar routine and lets just keep learning and enjoying it. 🤟😎🎸
