Hi there @VictoriaTACTeam and all at the TAC HQ as well as fellow TACers. Of course we haven’t a clue what Thanksgiving is over here in the UK – we’re still trying to work out why the colony’s taxes haven’t been paid for the last couple of hundred years – but I wish you all a happy holiday Stateside and thanks for a great year of guitar playing and support so far. Now back to Peter Jackson’s Beatles documentary ….sweet 🤟😎🎸

Hi there and welcome. I hope you have a lot of fun here. Just to say I haven’t got Fretboard Wizard (I’m waiting for the next release) but I’m concentrating on skills more at the moment, trying to get down all the basics of hammer ons, pull offs, slides, chords etc and it is really enough for me in the first year. I do want to learn the fretboard but I’m not letting my current lack of knowledge in that area hamper my enjoyment right now. I think it can feel a bit overwhelming trying to learn everything at once so as so many have already said, baby steps. Plan around a few things you want to get out of each 90 days and treat everything else as a bonus. Rushing it all will just make your progress slow in all areas but really gettng some great wins under your belt will be a huge confidence boost and spur you on to the next one.

    Good luck.. 🤟😎🎸 Darren (Moonhare)

I didn’t see that posted. I have just hand written some notes for myself in the front of my guitar progress folder but I don’t think they’d help anyone else really.

Hi @steve48 (and @Jimso & @better_play_good ). I’m still in my first year here at TAC (Joined in April) and I agree with all that has been said my @MikeGaurnier @Cadgirl @Loraine @jumpinjeff and @Kim-Fitz . I have a slightly different way of dealing with this but exactly the same outcome in that I try the daily challenge and if I can get it at 1x speed then I tick it off as complete. If I can’t I just leave it unticked and move on to the next one. (see screenshot). It gives me some idea of what stage I’m at each month then I figure next year I’ll be able to tick off more each week as I progress. After the last 90 Day Progress party I downloaded the 90 day guide and one part of my plan was to revisit the 30 Day Challenge and see how I got on. So far I have redone the first three weeks (as well as my normal guitar routine) and have been able to play all at 2x speed. Now I was only getting them at .75 or 1x speed during my first 30 days. What a change in 8 months!

So don’t ever feel you are behind or not keeping up. I am buzzed by my progress and yet you can see from the daily challenge I’m not getting them all by any means. If I was able to do 100% already I’d be wondering if as a novice player this was really a challenge at all. Let the system do its magic and it will creep into your playing almost unnoticed. Oh and do try to get along to the 90 Day Progress Party on Jan 5th and meet some fellow TAC players. Keep rockin! 🤟😎🎸 Darren (Moonhare)

Yes. It’s not all about the formal learning but about the fun along the way. I try the dailys – don’t get all of them and weekends is generally just playtime. But any day that has been a bit crap I can sit and play to take the edge off. Have fun Darren 🤟😎🎸

That shows how TAC gradually seeps into your playing over time. Well done and very encouraging for the rest of us.

I am a minor key junkie so it was really nice to hear Doug creeping in there! Great improv all round though.

Interesting. I never heard about that. I think as a new member I’ve sometimes wondered about things Tony mentions in some of the videos like posting a video to get a solo badge. 🤔

So right @stevieblues – it doesn’t matter what mood I’m in there’s something to enjoy on guitar and lighten the day again. Certainly doesn’t hurt to have the TAC family about either!

You’re not wrong @Loraine – time has flown by but what a great time it has been. More to come!
