Welcome to TAC! Each week the Daily Challenges take us through the 5 basic skills every guitarist needs, the same skill being emphasized on its day, every Monday, Tuesday, etc; using different material each week to work on that skill. No matter what level of playing guitar you are at, you just do the best you can within the 10 minutes, or whatever time you spend (some spend more time on the daily challenges, just don’t let it be a burden, keep it fun and enjoyable). As Albert said, lessons come around again, and you will see your improvement. Some lessons will seem hard, almost impossible (at least to me at the beginning), when you are new to this. Do the challenge anyway. When you have put in your time, let it go. You will be amazed how the system works over time, your skill improves, and you play as you never thought you could. Enjoy!

Thank you! I’m not brave. I have been in TAC long enough to know I will not play perfectly (but that’s okay); this is a generous community; it is good for me to post and get feedback; and it is good to make contact with other TAC members. Enjoy your experience here!

@Skyman911 Thanks! 64 is a fine age. Enjoy!

@albert_d Thanks! Yes; 64 is in the year view mirror quite a while now, and the hair left a long time ago.

It isn’t where there are lyrics. It is the acoustic guitar version in a sense of what the fiddle plays for it’s solo in parts. The fiddle of course has a different sound, and is playing at a different speed, but you it is the same notes. You can hear it at the beginning and in other parts. It might not be apparent at first, but speed up the play track to 2 times the speed and you may be able to see where it is playing the fiddle part.

You’ve been through a lot, so the mental gymnastics that work out with our emotions will be popping up. For any of us; when we go through tough stuff; I think especially as we move into the mature years of our life (at least for me); and have more limitations in ways physically; we can be overcome. You sound like you know what hinders you in these ways as you seek to gain and use your physical abilities. Write it out; read it; remind yourself how to work through or around the hindrances; and walk out daily a path toward your goals. The speed of recovery or progress is not what is most important. Keep moving toward them. Involve what support system you can. The best to you Loraine. You are thought of and prayed for. Keep well; and keep on truckin’.
