I occasionally experience this also, I go to post and it doesn’t get accepted. If I add a smiley to my message it will not post, that has been since day 1. I like using emoticons but TAC won’t allow me to.
Sometimes you have log out and back in again and posting starts to work. It’s not a perfect site, but it’s great in so many ways!

Can’t add much, @rainbirds3-gsgmail-com all the important points have been addressed. All I can say is that I have had quite the opposite experience with TAC since joining a year ago. All the other online programs failed to do what Tony did immediately: Make learning fun! During the intro sessions I was playing blues licks and power chords and having the time of my life. The other courses were teaching Strum Patterns 101. I loved the freedom to go right into playing classic licks.
But you have to put perfectionism to bed immediately. Give it a good try and mark it complete! Have fun, that is all!

Sehr schön gespielt! Well done!
Der Hund läuft so mir nichts, dir nichts herum! Dem gefällt es weniger! LOL!

Welcome to TAC! If you had a significant skillset in the past, I would think it would return more quickly than a person learning from scratch as you say. I hope you enjoy this program as much as I have, it’s just perfect for me! I was an absolute beginner in March 2024 and dabbled in various online courses until I found TAC on July 3rd. Aside from when I traveled to Europe last November, I have never missed more than 2 days playing guitars. I’m in this for good and I credit Tony and his great (very affordable) program.

Agreed, Loraine has been “Encourager in Chief” here on TAC since day 1 for me! Recently I have just moved and have a lot of stuff going on so I haven’t been quite as active in here, but she remains a top contributor!
If you spend any time in the forums, you’ll see she is often the only one to interact with me or anybody else who starts a thread in the forums! This place wouldn’t be the same without her. THANK-YOU, Loraine!

Welcome back! Hope you find it’s fun and want to come back every day.

Not sure if this resolves the difference that you’re experiencing, but in Rythm Guitar Challenge Lovely Place (coming up on Thursday), Tony will tell you “If you want to play along with the original Eagles recording, slap a capo on the 2nd fret!”

No, no, no! Do not try to perfect any TAC challenges! Perfectionism will kill your love of playing guitar. You are completely equipped to go into the daily challenges and just do what you can. If that’s one line of the TAB, one measure or just learn how to do one or 2 chords. You might not be able to do hardly any of the challenge on some days on Rhythm or Chord Transition Days (Th and Fr) but that’s fine, do the little bit you can and MARK THE CHALLENGE COMPLETE! Then if you still have time go back and review stuff from earlier in the week or maybe past weeks, whatever is fun.
Keep it fun always! It should not be work and perfecting things is definitely work! The sooner you drive away the concept of needing to do a lesson completely or perfectly the better! This will help you enjoy the program and keep coming back every day. Consistency is the important factor. You’ll get better at the skills as time passes because the skills come back around frequently and so do the songs (not as frequently, but the same skills reappear in different challenges)

I can’t speak to this very meaningfully, I’m such a novice when it comes to guitars; however, in my limited experience I do somewhat concur with your premise. My first guitar purchase was an electric and my first 4 months of attempting to learn were exclusively on that electric. (That’s ignoring the dabbling with my sisters acoustic as a teeny bopper, which I’m not counting because that was thoroughly without any guidance and it was over 50 years ago). I didn’t really develop much feeling for that guitar and while the online courses at the time got me started to learn a few chords and some rhythms, I lost interest and nearly stopped playing.
Then I discovered Tony’s Acoustic Challenge and began that at first on the same electric. Then I pulled out my wife’s old Takamine Acoustic. I do think I found that easier to be consistent, possibly because you don’t need to turn on your amp and plug in – it’s just quicker getting started. I only had one guitar stand so it was almost always the acoustic that stayed in the stan, while the electric stood close by in it’s case.
I can’t really say I have an emotional connection to any of my guitars. I have since bought a third, a mini because I was wanting to be able to easily take it with me when I’m on the road. I’m hoping this changes as my skills improve on this journey that has now been around 15 months.

It’s very annoying, I am getting the prompt very frequently, going to open a ticket with the support team.

Don’t worry about the daily challenges being a bit over your head, I felt the same way and I’m know many of us have. Some are more challenging than others, but all have multiple layers for players at different levels. If all you can do is a couple of notes, that’s fine. You’ll get further along next time.
