I mute frequently on the C but not as much as I used to. What helped me was making sure to get my hand well underneath the neck making it easier for my fingers to come at the strings perpendicular.

Congrats on your streak! I think it’s a bit of motivation, but if you want to play it shouldn’t matter.

Braden, that rocked! Or rather…it bluesed! Give yourself a pat on the back!
A-somethin’! LOL!
Loved it! Inspirational too, makes me want to improve quickly. After today’s Travis Nicks picking lesson, it suddenly doesn’t seem so far away, now.

Thanks for the replies!
Moose, I am trying to use the TABs (by printing them out) but I am still not real solid in reading them and definitely can’t read them while I’m playing yet, neither printed nor on screen. I really need the video (and preferably at full screen) to be able to see and do. But I’ll take your advice and spend some time to learn to read tabs better. It’s a language and needs to be practiced all by itself.
JumpinJeff, your viewpoint is helpful!
I’m definitely progressing and can do so much more than when I started not even a month ago (July 3rd). I just know that if I had only given it 10 minutes each day, I definitely wouldn’t be at this point (ready to start the daily challenges next Monday).

That’s all I’m looking at and it keeps me going. I see that things I couldn’t do yesterday are almost working today, still rough but a little better than yesterday. I try to focus on doing one element of the skill a little bit better each time. Sometimes it takes 10 tries before there is improvement, sometimes more but other times less!

Thanks for so many of you members for your thoughts here in response to Joseph’s frustrations. I’m wrapping up week 3 of 30 Days, so glad I discovered this thread here. So many useful tips and encouragement that I’m sure I will need later. Right now I’m feeling mildly pleased with my progress, but judging by peoples remarks, it’s about to get way, way more challenging.
Have also been thinking about the upgrade to lifetime so thanks for those comments also. I really think Tony should offer that after a few weeks and not during the sign up/purchase process.

I have been having thiis problem too. I’m running Windows 11 on a Dell laptop with Core I7. It appears to be hardware dependent.
I opened a support ticket. Was asked to try other browsers and got the same effect in multiple browsers (DuckDuckGo, Chrome, Edge). Then tried other devices and the videos all played fine on every other device of mine: (Phone – Samsung and Google, Tablet – Lenovo, all of these are Android devices; also works perfectly on my Linux Mint laptop. So I do TAC on my Linux box now, occasionally I’ll run it on my Win 11 again and it does work intermittently, if I’m switching from lesson to lesson and just launch a single vid it seems to work typically.

Beautiful! I grew up in Montreal so I’m rather partial to Leonard Cohen. Good job on this song!

Nice! I’m not a dead head so don’t know the song but your playing and voice sound great! I am looking forward to posting my own recordings, not there yet but hopefully within the next 60 days I’ll be confident enough to give it a shot.
P.S.: I’m a Genesis fan so the title “Ripple” caught my eye. On the album “Trick of a Tail”(first one sans Peter Gabriel), “Ripples” is one of my favorite tracks.

Nice going, looks like a very hard bar chord or are you doing one of the other shapes?

I watched every YouTube Review available on the Lava Me Air guitar and every reviewer had a lot of positive things to say about it. They all played on it extensively and liked the sound and especially the feel of it. It’s a small guitar, ideal for traveling.
It was referred to as a 3/4 scale guitar. But the fret board is still 1.7 – 2.1 inches which is just like my electric. It’s just shorter, 5 fewer frets than my guitar has, only 23.5 inches in length and the body is thin with rounded edges compared to normal acoustics. But according to the commentators, the smaller size doesn’t sacrifice much in sound or volume. (Andy Hillier did mention that the sound on the Lava Me Play was slightly warmer than on the ‘Air, but in the end he preferred the latter for its versatility and simplicity. It can go anywhere and is robust in it’s construction.
You can set effects on it to enhance the sound and fun, but several reviewers said it was a wonderful guitar even turned off and no effects.
This was one of my favorites out of nearly a dozen that I saw:

Yes I had heard that electric would be easier to fret for a beginner so I was a little surprised myself. This was a very low cost guitar under $200, not sure I want to spend $75 – $100 for a set up. I think any adjustments I make will be done by Luthier Langer. I’m pretty handy and know how to search YouTube. There are a number of things on it that I have to fix, but the strings have to got to come off and well I can’t play it when that happens. I’ve got some sharp fret edges (thankfully they’re mostly on top of the neck so they don’t bother me much); I went ahead and ordered the right type of files to take care of that. Now that I know I can play on the old acoustic I won’t mind taking my strat out of commission for a bit.
