a friends kid was in that graduating class at the naval academy and heard the commencement address you referenced. when he returned home he mentioned the bed making comment. I still recall it to this day. it’s the simple things. cheers

I’m trying to identify and learn a graduated collection of acoustic blues standards from simple to intermediate to advanced that I can work on over time. I’ve not really found such a list. I’d like to start with 5 simple blues songs I can work on to get proficient and build a foundation of blues playing skills and knowledge. This gives me a list of musicians and their work that teaches me also about the history and evolution of the blues. Anybody know of such a list, have their own lists they’ve built or have suggestions for starting a list of my own?

I totally get it. Am very serious about my learning and progress. I really like practicing and do it daily. The real challenge for me is finding different avenues to get the info and resources to fill in the different gaps in my training. I spend a lot of time researching questions online, there’s so much available. TAC has some very solid areas of didactic strength. I’m very grateful for the contribution it makes to my education. There are questions I’ve been unable to get answers either from support or forum members that mandate that I look elsewhere for critical support to my overall learning experience. I still have a few areas of my development I’m trying to figure out. I have other sites I belong to that are equally important and look to find others to round out my educational experience as my guitar skills and knowledge continually evolve and improve.

thanks for the tip on udemy

I subscribe to active melody. probably the most helpful site for me. Brian does an incredible job with his weekly lesson. basically writes a song each week that has scrolling tab, looping, and slowdown/speedup abilities and targeted at perfect level for me. might want to check it out if you aren’t already aware
