Great seeing you still at it Loraine! Keep it up!

Not sure about a chord matrix but as Loraine said in different words is that a 7th chord (dominant 7th chord being the full correct term) is just a regular (3 note) chord (the 1-3-5 degrees) with an added 4th note which is the 7th scale degree but flattened one half step. If it were the regular 1-3-5-7 four note combo we’d have a “major 7th chord”.
I hope that helps!

Same as Marty here. Age of the string dictates.

Well acoustic guitars come in a variety of sizes and neck widths so I’ll first ask what guitar you’re playing @bwscv123yahoo-com. Then I’d add that lighter strings can sometimes help with the fretting. Finally, don’t be so hard on yourself. Leave that to your fiercest critics (your family, it’s always the family that casts the most doubt) and just patiently work forward each day and just have fun. It’s going to take a little while until the muscle memory and coordination really kick in so give yourself a break during the starter period. You’ll get there. Most all of us have been through what you describe.

Well that sounds just FANTASTIC! It’s sounds quite similar to the experience I had with those gentlemen at this year’s NAMM Show but at (or at least near to) the actual factory? Shweet! I know you’ll have a great time @Loraine and it’ll be so worth giving up the other show.

Sounds awesome but no emails here. 🙁

Here is my 2 cents. If you already know some chords and can follow along with the lessons then why not just play a song? There’s plenty of easy to follow chord sheets online (ultimateguitar being one site lots of us use). Find a song that you like that has the chords you know and like and you’re off to the races! This isn’t magic folks although it is magical in what it does. Maybe do a search online for 3 chord songs first so you know what you might be looking for but yes, it’s that simple. Keep up with at least 10 minutes a day but you can add songs in too. My problem is remembering them if I don’t have the sheets with me. Most importantly…have fun!

I haven’t logged in here for quite a while but when I do I read this and a broad smile crosses my face (you’ll just have to believe me Loraine). Good to see your spirit flourishing…. play on!!

Congrats! That’s a HUGE step in anyone’s guitar journey! So happy for you!

Sorry I missed you (actually I missed both the open mics) @Loraine. It’s been another crazy work week. I hope and trust that all went well.

Not sure but probably not Loraine. You know how shy I am. I’ll leave the spotlight to others and simply enjoy listening.

I worked it out with TAC support Loraine. An old email address was at fault. All good now. I hope I can be there to see you play again….it’s been too long.
