    Congratulations @stevieblues I’ve only got 22 days but then I just started guitar still, having fun.

    Hi Beth, My condolences on the passing of your mama…

    I enjoyed your rendition of one of the King’s classics, you even got his lip snarl down 😁

    @stevieblues @Mrfredsporty

    Yeah was pretty impressed with myself and had to pat my back 😆I kept thinking it went C to G and I thought that doesn’t sound right… When I noticed he was making an A, so it’s A to G and then I picked out D. Woot woot old dog new trick!

    @Kitman Hey I applaud your courage, I’m only two weeks in but already have a song I’m working on, Southern Cross by CSN. I have the opening chords mapped out, now have to work on the transitions. I can play them but stopping to think about making the shape is a work in progress, I bought a metronome though so look out world 😆

    @Carol-3M-Stillhand @MikeGaurnier @Kitman

    Okay that is interesting, not what I was thinking at all. So much to learn… I was thinking it fell into the “easy” beginner chord shape (3 finger G) that I was trying to avoid and just learn the full shape. Instead it’s just a variant I need to store in the old brain.

    I didn’t get the full theory discussion about the add 7 and 11 but I will eventually because even though I don’t fully understand yet I know I can add my pinkie to the 3rd fret high E and get a D sus 4 and by lifting it drop right into a D which sounds cool

    Funny enough just saw a video on acoustic guitar string gauge where they went from light gauge to heavy. Personally I thought the light gauge sounded the best. You can find it on YouTube: Does Acoustic String Gauge Make a Difference? Interesting to watch

    @Carol-3M-Stillhand Hi Carol, thanks for the advice! I’ll look up your suggestion on YouTube. I also found a very nice older gentleman from England who has the smallest hands I’ve seen playing guitar, his channel is I am Morrison, only has a few videos but he is very funny about his difficulties he faced on guitar.

    @Kitman My biggest hangup will be my very robotic learning personality, i.e. the instructions say to do it this way so there are no deviations allowed. I’m like a computer program line by line don’t pass go and don’t collect $200.

    @Cadgirl Cool, it does have a timer feature and about 6 million different sounds, I think they call them voices. You can change the beats per measure too, so 4/4 or 3/4 to some really odd time signatures, you can even have 1/8 notes etc. It seems like it does a lot for such a small package.

    @Cadgirl Yeah I’m a complete noob, but better late than never. I seem to be able to make the 3 chord shapes but wow… switching between them is a bear. That is on my list of things to work on a lot.

    That works, the G isn’t too bad, not so sure about the C though.
