Go slow building muscle memory and confidence. Building a good foundation is key. Use fret board wizard to help you learn and understand the fretboard. Every chord has a root note. Also start out small, like… G to C or C to mini F. Place your fretting hand on your knee, then count to 5, 4 3,2,1, while counting down make the chord then at 1, play chord. Once you can make chord clean, then do the above without looking.

Happy New Year! My Mothers family is from Saskatchewan Canada. I remember as a child she would sing us to sleep with French.
