Welcome! I , too, started piano and guitar years ago, then quit. When I retired I decided to try again w/ the guitar. I’ve been w/ TAC for 2 yrs come May. However, I am slow to ‘get it.’ That’s what I love about this program. I used this Forum to vent, ask questions, get a pat on the shoulder, etc. You are not alone in this, ever. My goal is to learn a song or two. Not there yet. But I am taking some of the Thursday lessons and learning to play one, calling it a song.

    Keep at it.

Yes, my fingers don’t dare stretch as far as Tony’s do. I just go ahead and move my hand down to the 4th fret and then move my hand back up when I need to go to the 1st fret. It’ll be 2 years for me come May , and I am a slow learner.

I’d like to think of myself as ‘mature’ and not ‘old’. I retired from teaching last year so I’m ‘mature.’ LOL

Keep playing and it’ll become more comfortable. Tony talks about ‘muscle memory.’ But my brain and muscles don’t always communicate. LOL

Well, I moved on to the next lesson, Transposing. much easier!! It’s like balancing chemical equations, which I always loved. However, be careful w/ the “Real World Challenges.” The first step is to listen to a song and decide what key it is in. Well, that’s where I was 0/5 correct. Guess I’ll go back to the previous lesson and redo it. …in a few days.

That’s a good idea about looking up the keys of songs.

    Thanks!

LOL, I didn’t know that about the answers.

I’m moving on and hoping the next lesson doesn’t build too much on this past one.

I was thinking the same thing. I do have 2 acoustic guitars so I’ll try that.
