WOW @the-old-coach 😱 you’re inspiring me to try those brain games for myself – I don’t sleep too well at night and maybe that’s just what I need😎🎸🤘

Having FUN is what it’s all about @albert_d 🤩👍 I play for my grandkids too (they are both 19 months) and I love when they come around the guitar I’m playing and touch it to feel the vibrations (just don’t touch the strings when I’m playing). Sometimes they go to the guitars that are on stands and start strumming along. For them, it doesn’t matter how much that guitar costs or if it’s nylon strings or metal – they just love hearing music and appreciate that I’m only paying attention to them when playing – they even applaud when I’m finished – go figure🎸🤘😎

Congrats @c_the_beard 👏👏🤩 You can do what you can do at this time (no need for perfection) – these exercises/lessons are geared for measuring your progress. When you attempt them again in the future (most of these daily challenges come around again within a year +/-), you can measure your progress to see that trusting in the system yields positive results👍

@Fletch and the SWR Project – brilliant lyrics and performance – message understood. This subject needs to be put out there into the open.

Hey @polarpeak75 , my experience with acoustic strings is limited because I play 1 guitar (I have a couple others) consistently and it’s a Martin 000-15. I’ve used the Martin strings for it all along to this point. I’ve settled on the Martin custom lights 2.0 80/20’s for a while and enjoyed the feel of those strings while playing – and I’ve had the last set on it for almost a year – yes I’ve used a string cleaner on them multiple times over that time to keep them “alive”. However, this recent string change (today) I used Santa Cruz “Low Tension” parabolic strings because I’ve heard so many people here at TAC say they loved them. The jury is out (in my mind), but I can tell you that they definitely give a more “robust” sound IMHO than I’ve experienced with the Martin strings. They are thicker strings than I’m used to and my fretting fingers have to adjust, but I feel that I can adapt. To me, it’s going to be about how long I can keep the Santa Cruz strings “alive” on my guitar compared to the Martin strings – what I’ve said is just MHO (YMMV).
Also consider that the Martin strings that I’ve been using cost around 13 dollars….the Santa Cruz strings cost around 30 dollars per set.

Big congrats @the-old-coach 👏👏👏 Thanks for the shout-out, for me, it’s about all the things you mentioned about TAC, the Community, and then add obsessive/compulsive disorder – oh….let me restate that last thing – it’s about having everything in my mind “in order”(lol) – wake up, log-in, play, log-out, repeat🤣🎸 Keep it going OTC, 700 is only 100 days away🎉🥂🤩

What type of hygrometer do you have @jumpinjeff ? I used to have to use a psychrometer every time I was in the field doing surveying when using an altimeter back in the day. That was a pain in you know where(lol). Anyways, enjoy your perfect day!

Hey @GerryB56 , you know I was just kidding you🤣 – you did ask for it, so I thought I’d take the liberty. But anyways, why not break them all and just get another set?/ – in fact, get a couple sets if you like them – just make sure you give them a chance to acclimate to the temperature in your house before putting them on and tightening them up – metal expands/stretches much better when it’s warmed up👍

Hey @polarpeak75 , I just wanted to inform you that the jury in my mind is in! After 2 days of playing my guitar while using the Santa Cruz strings – I can’t wait for them to “wear out” so that I can go back to the Martin MA535T Custom Light (11-52)’s. For me, it’s not about the sound as much as it is about the feel – and I really can’t justify the price I paid for the Santa Cruz strings – way too much!

Hi @stevieblues , one of the many positive things that helps to keep me going is the possibility of inspiring members to continue their journey and trust in the TAC process, in spite of the frustration that can happen to any one of us (and does happen to each of us at times). I wish you and all TAC members the best with their journeys and to remember that progress happens one day at a time🎸

Thanks @Kitman , it’s been quite a fun journey so far, but it’s not over for me. I get a lot of joy when I meet members like you here in the Forums, and it’s one of the things that keeps me going👍

One day at a time @GerryB56 , that’s how it will happen for you and anyone else reading this post – and you have to keep it fun – don’t get caught up in perfection.

Hi @albert_d , Today I have 692 total playing sessions, and of that, 600 are consecutive playing sessions. I thought long and hard about your question Albert (a good question by the way), and I don’t know if this would be considered a “revelation”, but what I’ve found is that I get a lot of self satisfaction from playing my guitar and I have to thank TAC for developing my habit and all the TAC members for their support through the years (if this sounds like an Oscar acceptance speech, then I apologize), that combination has kept it fun for me.
