Beautifully done @Marty69 . One of my all time favorite songs. I was singing along with your instrumental.

@BobbyJ I agree with @jumpinjeff that they are 2 distinctly different beasts. Power chords only play 2-3 strings; whereas a full bar chord is 5-6;strings. You obtain different texture and tone.

I could think of much worse addictions @Mrfredsporty . You’ve developed a passion for all things acoustic, and you’re currently pursuing knowledge and expanding upon it. I don’t see any harm, and yes I’d say it is a huge win!

@Kitman Excellent performance and cover. Your strumming was well timed and smooth, and great vocals. You should be very proud of yourself, and hopefully future videos won’t be so scary.

Thanks for the kind words Thomas. I find playing and singing to be so difficult, and many times I’m just not able to marry the two. This was a fairly easy song with only a few chords and the most basic strum pattern ever developed, so that helped. I find it nerve wracking to play live, so I’ve started just taping myself and posting those videos. Still struggle with the red light syndrome, but it’s less so than a live open mic.

@the-old-coach Depends on the song, in all honesty. Power chords are great on the electric guitar for playing hundreds of good rock songs. I play them occasionally on the acoustic, but they have to really fit the song for me to use them. I think that both skills are good to have a grasp on.
