Great performance @shep929gmail-com ! I love drop D tuning. It’s always nice to have a reprieve from some lessons that are tougher.

Hi @jimmaggio6gmail-com What type of trouble are you having? The only thing I can think of is that you are hitting 2 strings by accident when trying to tune it, so it’s showing the wrong note. You have to make sure your G still isn’t ringing, and make sure you aren’t accidentally tapping the G or E string.

(I’m not sure why this typed in red, or why your message was in red – odd)

Hey @mikelockswbell-net I typically gravitate to Ultimate-Guitar and Songster too for Chord & Tab sheets with lyrics. You can also search for the song title and search terms “chords” “tabs” and “lyrics”. There are a lot of sites that are free, but they’re usually the songs transcribed by others. Actual chord and lyric sheets from certain artists aren’t shared or will cost you money to get them.

    Holy,Cow, a year already!?! Happy 1st TACiversary.

I feel for ya with regard to where I was at a year too. The guitar is not an easy instrument to learn. Look at where you were to where you are now. The learning curve the first year is especially high. I can say with certainty that it gets better and faster the more time you have.

As for TAC, it teaches the base/foundation for playing. He’s started in the past year teaching against actual songs, which he didn’t do before. There are many sites that you can use for a supplement to TAC. If you’d like some suggestions, IM me. It isn’t courteous to discuss them openly because some are competitors to TAC. Have you considered supplementing TAC with guitar lessons. I know a great teacher that does virtual lessons. Lmk if you’d like his info. I take my lessons virtually still, and I’m only a mile or so from the store. It’s just more convenient to me.

Hi @Dave57 If it’s the one from the lessons this week, I think it’s a D35 or HD35. Just a few things on the differences.

“The most significant difference is that the HD-28 has scalloped bracing and the D-28 has non-scalloped bracing, also known as straight bracing”

“The D is a more focused, yet warm, rich sound while the HD is a bigger, warmer, bassier (too bassy in some situations) sound. Both are very good for my style (singer/songwriter) of music.”

That means a lot to me Marty. I get better every time I play, and I’m having a lot of fun. This is one of my favorites. I still have a ways to go, but it’s coming together.

Thanks Chuck. I enjoy playing it. It’s not too difficult, but it took a while to get it down. I need to work on the vocals and playing against the song.

Good seeing you too Ian. Hope all is well. I’m here for life, so you can always find me. Come more often and visit with me. You’re one of the few I truly miss interacting with!

@musicrmemsn-com Thank you so much for your very thoughtful message. You make some great suggestions , and I will definitely try to incorporate them. Can’t hurt.

I do have a difficult time relaxing because of the fibromyalgia. Because I’m constantly tense, I do have difficulty playing guitar. I also have hand tremors and wonder if my hand jerking out is an extension to that. I tried to relax as much as possible but it is very difficult. I like the idea of putting the guitar away and practicing the relaxation and then gradually incorporating air strumming and then reintroducing the guitar and strumming without a pick and gradually re-introducing the guitar and the pick together.

I’ll try and remember to update this thread at a later date with how things are working out.

    Thank you again
