@timbothirroul Great post and parallel paradigm — very, very true. In the beginning, it takes effort and thought to know what, where and when, and the correct presentation and clear chords, and fingering and having both hands and fingers work independently yet in tandem. It slowly begins to become 2nd nature, or what we call muscle memory. Then it picks up momentum and becomes easier and more natural seemingly overnight, and all of a sudden you can pick up on other new songs, chords, strumming or finger picking patterns, and begin adding embellishments rather quickly. It is so much fun. Don’t get me wrong, you still have learning curves and need to practice, but the learning curves are much shorter.

Congratulations on your 6 year TACiversary! That’s awesome.

Your message is great, because it gives permission to those that venture away from TAC or their guitar journey, in general, permission to just dust off and jump back in. There is no guilt or shame in having life get in the way.

I love that I can learn a song or lick so quickly now. I can have new songs every week for the virtual open mics I attend. It keeps it fun, fresh, and with lots of variety to keep it interesting. I can’t focus on one thing for very long, so I tend to start something, then add it to my portfolio to continue to work on. I typically go through my entire portfolio every week or two, so it’s still fresh in my mind.

It is so cool that we can still have fun after so many years. Way to go!

Thank you @albert_d . I really like her music, because she sings about peace, love, and harmony, against war, political strife, and unfairness. It reminds me of the 60’s. I would love to see her. I’m in the process of learning a few other of her songs. I’ll post once I figure them out.

Thank you for listening @Guitargeezer-Jack . I don’t do the song justice when compared to Eliza, but I enjoyed doing it.

@the-old-coach Mark, I feel for ya, because I’ve had that happen all too often. I’m not sure what or why triggers that to happen. Victoria thinks it has to do wit using a tablet or phone or needing to clear the cache. I don’t know whether it is a TAC issue or an issue on our end, but that doesn’t solve the problem. The only thing I can think of, as a work around, is to post a very short post, and then then go back and edit it. Because you’ve already posted something, then you should be able to simply add to it.

I would love to hear your comments. If you’re up to retyping that is. 🙂

Yes @John_Hall I remember our parallel journeys! I am committed every lunch hour to TAC. Although, that will likely change in the near future. We’ve been called back to our office 3 days a week. I’ll have to shift my lessons to probably when I get home before dinner.

You’re so kind @Philb . Thank you so much! If it weren’t for people in the forums supporting me these past few years through personal and guitar related ,alters, I wouldn’t be where I am. I truly owe most of my growth to the support of the forum community and guidance I received through it.

Thank you @jumpinjeff ! It has been one hell of a ride, that’s for sure, but I’m having fun. There was a time I actually thought of hanging up my guitar. It hasn’t come easily to me, and I’ve had quite a few obstacles along the way, but I’m glad I didn’t give up. I’m not great at playing or vocals, but I’m having fun and challenging myself.

I’ve thought of you often. I don’t see you on the forums anymore, but I knew you were lingering around them. :). Thanks for your support. It means a lot.
