@jason-ashley Welcome to the TAC community. Great question.

The way I look at it is if you have prior guitar experience, then you can jump into the daily challenges anytime, concurrently with taking the 30 days to play and the following Get Started courses It depends on how much time you can commit every day. However, if you’re new to guitar, my suggestion is to complete the 30 days to play, the next 6 chords, and the other suggested Get Started courses. This will get you started and help you to then move to the Dailies and other Skill Courses.

You can jump into the dailies any day. The lessons follow the same daily focus every week. Monday – Technique; Tuesday – Lick; Wednesday Scale/improv; Thursday Rhythm, and Friday – Chord transitions. So if you look at it from just the perspective of the focuses noted, then starting on any day makes more sense. Otherwise, jump in the first Monday that comes up to experience it as a whole.

Hope this added info helps you out.

@PattyV I also have all the tabs. Let me know if you need any. Same info needed. Name of lesson and day of the week (that’s how I save them)

@PattyV I think I welcomed you on another thread, but if not, welcome to the TAC community! Glad that @Moose408 was able to help you out. You can see previous lessons within the month it is, but when we switch to a new month, then you’re unable to access the previous month. No worries though, the lessons rotate back around every 8-12 months.

However, as a workaround, several of us save all the lessons in our favorites. You can go on any members profile and click their favorites to see what they’ve saved. You just need to know the name of the lesson and what day of the week, because they are saved under the type of lesson they are. The types of lessons are Monday – Technique; Tuesday – Guitar Lick; Wednesday Scale/Improv; Thursday Rhythm, Friday – Chord Transitions (hope all that makes sense – if not, let me know). I typically save a screen shot of all the lessons of a month too, because then I have the names and days of all the lessons (copy attached).

Welcome back @Corncob18wheels , and I feel your pain. There are lots of YouTune videos on how to read tab, but here’s Tony’s lesson. I hope it helps. Just keep trying, because it opens up so many doors to understand it and play off tablature.

As for lessons, have you completed all the lessons on the How to section of the skills courses? Don’t overlook the stretching and next 6 chords lesson. They’re important, especially stretching, but they’re all important to understanding the basics of guitar and TAC. Then you can start on the daily challenges, and if you have time take any of the skill courses that interest you. This is your journey, develop it however you want. Have fun with it. The daily challenges are meant to be challenges. Take the starter course in the skills courses to learn the format for each day of the eeek and how they build upon each other.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE SOME FUN!

Great big win @stackett9754gmail-com ! If you don’t have a metronome, I suggest getting one of the many apps out there. I use Pro Metronome, which was recommended to me by my guitar teacher. A metronome should be learned early in your guitar journey. It may be a rough start learning to use it, but stick with it, and it will become easier and will be so beneficial to your playing.

@GGG_GrannyGoneGangster I love that you can laugh at yourself and joke with your daughter like that. So cool! I wish your daughter luck with her surgery and hoping for a fast recovery. That’s not an easy fix, that’s for sure. I think you’ve chosen some great songs to practice and learn for year end, and I love that one is special to your daughter.

@idtrouthound & @mcknurseyahoo-com It’s always great when you can get together with another like minded guitar geek. Your best bet, in addition to posting in the forums like you did, is to run a search in the members link (go to your profile and click members). When it opens, you want to search on a very broad basis so as not to limit any members based on where they live. My suggestion is to search only by state. When all the members that live in that state show up, you can look for any that might be more local to you. Then reach out by sending them a personal message introducing yourself, how you heard about or found their name and what you are looking for. Leave your contact info for them and ask them to respond either way with their interest. You might hit Gold and get a few interested and make some new friends.

hey @JoeT you haven’t told us your thoughts and feelings. My first reaction was shock. Acoustic Tuesday is or was a mainstay of the TAC community and our success. I’ve learned so much from the show.

I truly understand Tony’s family commitments and the changes that have occurred since the 2 boys were born. I also know that major corporate changes typically cycle around every 5 years on average it seems. It is just unfortunate thst we’ve experienced losses of not only the 90 day progress parties, but now Acoustic Tuesday.

Tony’s branching out it seems to a wider audience, and that means we need to adjust to not having all his attention on the current TAC community. He’s definitely distanced himself since developing the new website, but he seemed somewhat touchable still with the 90 day progress parties and Acoustic Tuesday. We, meaning the TAC community were the audience. We won’t have that personal connection as much, but we’ll at least have the past experiences with him, the current daily lessons and other skills courses and Fretboard Wizard, and the tapings of all the Acoustic Tuesday shows to fall back on.

Who knows, maybe his dreams and branching out will have a positive effect on all things TAC. He did say that he wants to continue expanding the lessons on TAC. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. He may even include current TAC members to help him realize his dreams. I know he’s helped me greatly, and I never thought I’d be able to learn guitar or even play anything resembling a song. Guitar hasn’t come easily. I’ve really struggled with it, and I feel like I did as a child with learning disabilities and always having to work twice as hard to just be okay. I’m not a great player, but I’m getting better, and I’m having fun most of the time. I have physical limitations, which would have sidelined me before, but Tony’s positive advice helped me to keep working at it, commit to a ridiculously short amount of time daily, and to recognize small wins, and always to have fun. If he can help others, then kudos to him (as long as TAC isn’t forgotten in the process or placed on a slow burner in the rear and forgotten about).

I’m interested in your thoughts Joe.

Hi @Roisin To see all the t-shirts that are available, go to the store – tab on the left that says Family Store. They have Acoustic Tuesday shirts listed. I’m not sure if the one you’re looking for is listed, but I know they have it in short sleeves. You can always message Support using the link at the bottom left of the page and ask your question there. They could help you better than the community can in the forums. Good luck with it. I would be interested in a long sleeve of that shirt too, especially with Fall right around the corner.

@OhWowMan You own FBW for life. Even if your membership expires, you’ll still have access to the course.

Just my overall 2 cents…. I personally think it took a lot to try and put together the Life Festival (financially, mentally, physically), and it is probably a distant thought at this time, but I’ve been known to be wrong in the past. My point is that we don’t need to wait around for TAC to put together something. Anyone can develop their own get together. Find a location, develop a program schedule, get volunteers, hire any paid entertainment you’ll have, and start the whole process over again. I know sounds too simplistic, but it’s doable. Keep it on a smaller, more regional scale.

And no, I’m not volunteering. My schedule is too erratic and hectic, but there are many others who are retired or have flexible work schedules that can do this.
