Beautifully done, as usual @Marisa ! I didn’t think the last note hindered the recording at all.

I really wish we could go back in time and have the previous month still made available, but there are 2 simple reasons why that won’t happen. 1. Server and bandwidth, and 2. TAC wants us to keep moving forward and not spend so much time on past lessons.

If you’re able to convince TAC to allow access for the previous month, I would support that.

@kcahill5gmail-com That’s a really good question that crosses just about everyone’s mind at some point. How do you take Tony’s lessons and grow with them and use them outside of TAC.

The lessons teach foundational skills and licks, which can often be utilized when doing improv and stepping into a situation where you need some skills for playing with others. I personally practice improv by searching YouTube for a key and backing track. Then I practice different scales and skills against the backing track.

I think the lessons teach foundational skills that you can take outside of TAC and apply to songs learned from different sites, music books, etc. Many times the lessons simply help me have the skills necessary to go out and learn to play songs. There are several free sites with chord sheets and instruction (many free) and I’d be happy to message you a list (TAC prefers that we not discuss competitive sites here).

I had absolutely no guitar skills or knowledge when I began, and if it weren’t for the 30 days to play and the weekly structured lessons, then I wouldn’t have been able to eventually go out and begin to learn 2, 3, 4 chord songs and eventually to play more complicated compilations.

I’m still learning and growing, and TAC keeps me grounded in a routine and covers all the skills needed over time. Not sure if any of this helps. Good luck and have fun with it.

That is truly awesome @Ole72 ! It’s okay if you made up lessons on the same day. The fact that you got a full week of lessons on a related subject and skill will help you continue to progress in your playing. You must feel great for your accomplishment, and rightly so! Keep up the great work!

That’s a truly awesome guitar, Congratulations!! I live near the Martin factory, and I saw a D-18, but I didn’t have time to play it. Hope you have many hours of fun with it.

Really quite beautiful @TMutter . You can hear and feel the emotion of losing him, but there is an uplifting sound in the song that almost says it’s okay to go and him saying he was ready and he loved you.

@jmwood59gmail-com I remember feeling lost and overwhelmed at the beginning and not knowing how to structure my time accordingly. I also felt I needed to perfect a skill or practice it till I felt it was near perfect, but that isn’t the case. In fact, it’s the opposite. It is about building a good practice routine, building foundational skills and progress over perfection.

My suggestion is continue with the daily challenges for the minimum of 10 minutes per day and mark them complete. You can practice longer than10 minutes, but remember the object is to keep moving forward.

If you find a particular lesson that you really like or that you want to revisit, then click on the heart at the bottom right of the video, and it will be saved to your profile under Favorites. You can then revisit it. I wouldn’t necessarily go back and redo the lessons. Use the weekends to further practice, if you want. Skills are covered more than once throughout the year, and the videos rotate back around about every 8-9 months, so you’ll definitely cover the material again. It’s fun to see the progress we’ve made in our overall skills and how much faster we pick up on things the next time it rolls around.

    Have fun with it.

@Moose408 Welcome to the TAC community!

There is no right or wrong way to go through the 30 days to play. Some players have absolutely no experience, and we’ve had many take the course that have been playing for years. The 30 days is a suggestion only. You can take as much or as little time to go through it as you like.

If I remember, I did one video at a time and took a day or two to practice it, and then I moved onto the next video, etc. I took 30 days to go through it. The biggest suggestion is not to get caught up on trying to perfect a skill. Give it a good go, mark it complete and move on. Keep the flow going. The purpose is progress over perfection. You’re beginning to build your practice routine and see how Tony structures lessons and builds upon skills throughout a week.

Ask questions as you go through it, and have a lot of fun!

@Booker Excellent suggestion, and I think classical fares pretty well on volume, but you’re right, so much easier to play.
