@karlt-vancouver- That is a conundrum. I’d contact Support and give them a link to this page (go to search bar and highlight and copy address, and then paste in your message to support . Sorry I couldn’t help more.

@pixnchrisgmail-com First, welcome to TAC! It’s great to have you here.
I agree that @Kim-Fitz and @Booker had some great suggestions.
I see you’re starting with Fretboard Wizard first. If you are a complete newbie, it is probably better to hold off for a short time taking Fretboard Wizard until you are more acclimated with the basics of the guitar. My suggestion is to start with the 30 days to play, the next 6 chords, the 5 day guitar routine, stretching, etc., and then incorporate the daily challenges once you have a basic grasp of the guitar. Here’s a link to the beginning courses that I suggest https://tonypolecastro.com/skills/. From there, you could pursue any skills course that you’re interested in. There isn’t really a curriculum. We set our own goals. Pickup Fretboard Wizard after a while, and you will probably be able to work through it with more ease. There is a lot of information provided/covered in Fretboard Wizard, so take your time. You own the course for life, so there’s no rush.
Don’t be a stranger to the forums. The members can assist you in so many ways. Good luck and have fun.

@LoveMyHoodie Well done! Fingerpicking is fun, but I struggle with it. You did extremely well, and congrats on meeting your 90 day goal. You choose some challenging songs, and I think that’s great. It pushes you and will help you progress.

@JerryCan I’ve actually been exactly where you’re at and thought this is too difficult, I learn slower than others, I can’t play anything and definitely not well. But, I kept at it, and this year, something really clicked and it seems like overnight I was able to do things I couldn’t do before, my chord transitions became more fluid and faster, I became faster, and I was able to sing while playing. I’m so grateful I didn’t stop playing, because this is something I’ve always wanted to do. Will I ever be as good as some of the others that have EPs and other original works, or who can go and play in an open setting for an extended period, probably not. I’m doing this more for myself. If I get to the point I can play for family and friends, that will be great.
The guitar is a difficult instrument to learn, but it’s not impossible. It just takes dedication and hard work. It takes not only the lessons and practice, but extending outside of TAC and trying to play songs from other sites. If you’re interested, I can message you with some sites that are free. Search for simple 2 and 3 chord songs to play on YouTube. Have you considered private lessons? I supplement TAC with private lessons, and it’s helped a lot. I have a great teacher that doesn’t dictate the curriculum. We have goals and work towards them.
Anyway, not sure if any of this will sway you not to quit. I don’t even know what you find difficult or are struggling with. There’s always tomorrow and things might be better.

@Dave57 I know he looks over discussions in the forums before the TAaC quarterly parties, and he mentions certain performances or insights, etc. during the party. I’ve seen him post occasionally in the forums, but that doesn’t happen often. However there isn’t a specific forum where you can ask him a question and have him answer it. You can contact Support and ask them your question if it is about one of the courses, or a technical issue or suggestion, or if you have a particular topic you would like to have covered by Tony, then you can possibly ask Support to pass it onto Tony for consideration. If it is something that can be asked of the community, then post it in the forum.

@brian welcome back after your hiatus from guitar. That happens to most people at different times. You do have a lot of musical interests, and to have work and family too can make it seem overwhelming.
My suggestion is to break it down. Like the quarterly TAC parties, prioritize the next 3 months. What do you want to accomplish. Then write an action plan to follow to get there. I can see where trying to do it all could become self defeating. Break down practice times. Practice smarter, not longer. This might be warming up with the TAC daily, then maybe some finger exercises or scales on either electric or acoustic. Keep the sessions short though. Practice 10-20 minutes (set a timer, so you stop after a short time), and then do normal life things, and then when there is an opportunity for another 10-20 minutes, practice some songs that are of interest to you, or take a lesson on one of your other sites, or practice something you’ve been working on. Then when you can, take 10-20 minutes and just let go and do whatever your heart desires.
Finally, be kind to yourself. If you find you’ve taken on too much and become frustrated and overwhelmed, stop, reassess and begin anew. Guitars are so forgiving with their time. There’s no rush to do it all at once. Whatever you don’t get to, reassess quarterly and reprioritize. .

@terry-w-m-36 On the daily lesson screen for the current day, look to the left and you’ll see a list of all the lessons for the month. Just look back to the previous weeks lessons, and you should be able to just click on the lesson you’re looking for.

@LoveMyHoodie Thats a great win, and I wish more people would give it a try and share their progress with us. You did extremely well in both your posts, and it doesn’t look like you suffer much from what we call the red light syndrome – where the recording red light goes on, and that song we could play with our eyes closed all of a sudden becomes a problem for us. You look very relaxed in your videos, you’re obviously having fun and enjoying the journey, and you have a sense of humor that is shining through. Keep it up!

That was really good @FolsomJohn , especially during the tricky timing portions. Hadn’t heard this song in quite a while, and I enjoyed your performance.

@KarlT-Vancouver-WA Follow up – after speaking with Victoria in Support, PiP is available in both modes. Sometimes you have to maximize your screen to see it, which I had to do in the Play mode. I was able to use them both in the dailies.
-
@KarlT-Vancouver-WA I hadn’t even thought of the browser issue. I’ve had problems with Safari, but it worked well for you. I find Google to work the best with TAC. Glad you figured that out – PiP away!
-
@KarlT-Vancouver-WA Luckily I checked back in on this topic and saw your question. Just for future reference, when you respond to another person’s comments or want to direct a comment directly to someone, use an ampersand @ and their screen name – see how I began this response using the @ and your name. Type the @name and wait for the drop down with the name and click on the drop down. It will then embed the name in the message. The system will then flag me that I have a comment using the bell looking icon at the top right of the page. You can click on the bell and it lists any comments directed to you, and it will take you directly to the message by clicking on the drop down.
With regard to the PiP for yesterday, I had no trouble bringing it up in the Play mode. I simply maximized the screen and clicked on the video until the tool menus showed up. The picture-in-picture icon was at the bottom right.
How are you accessing the lesson? I was unable to view the PiP on my iPad. But I had no trouble on my laptop and desktop.

😆 It’s all good – I get confused over many things. I was brand new to guitar when I started and had no idea what anything meant. I still get confused on certain things. Hope you have a fantastic day!
