Are you marking the daily lessons as “Favorite” in the new site? That will allow you to build your own library and go to any lesson you want for more practice.

Hi, if I marked a lesson as “favorite” would it still be there next month or the following?

Are you a brand new beginner @Goat ? Maybe you need to be going through the 30 Days to Play and not the Daily Challenges.

yes @Goat , if you haven’t been playing guitar for a while, or if you’re brand new to it – you should really consider going through the “30 Days to Play” course 1st. I’ve been playing (on & off) for over 45 years – when I joined TAC, the 1st thing I did was the 30 Days to Play course. It allowed me to measure my skills and abilities and see where I stood – in my own eyes! From there, I jumped into the skills courses and eventually started doing the Daily Challenges – some are hard, some – not so much.

The important thing is not to let this stuff stress you out! If your not having fun doing it, after 10 minutes, mark it complete and practice something else that you can have fun with. If that daily lesson is something you really want to work on later, then “fave” it so you can go back to it when you’re ready.

P.S. You don’t want to miss the “Ice Dancing” lesson coming up in a couple weeks – once you do the lesson, you’ll see what I mean!

Thanks Bill,… great help to me,… especially your comments of if I’m not having fun with it, work at least the 10mins & move to something i DO enjoy,… which for me is MOSTLY the daily challenges, but the fretboard wizard is a treat & there is PLENTY other material lessons that i have to enable enjoyment!

P.S. Where would i be able to see the “ice dancing?’

Yup, this one I think – the loss of favorites from the old site – is a thorn in the side of the TAC team as well. I lost all my warmups that I had favorited. On the up side, I am making sure to favorite everything that is difficult, or that I particularly enjoy, and ALL of the warmup lessons, I depend on those an awful lot! Heck, I should just favorite everything.

Thank you for all your supportive replies!

I have finished the 30 days to play!

If there’s a lesson i don’t like very much, I would go back to ones that i do. I have been playing guitar for a long time,…… 25 years or more, so my strumming is fairly adept,..ish!

I like the fretboard teaching, but the scale from yesterday was big time & i just couldn’t have given it a 10mins minimum & be happy with it! I gulped just looking at it because I knew it required my time to capture it & get it down.

I consider that one to have fallen by the wayside, but i have nothing to replace it with!!😣

Hi @Goat , there was a lot going on in yesterday’s scale lesson. I had to break it down to its basic structure. I was pretty motivated though to stick with it because it reminded me of how one of my favorite artists plays (Dickey Betts). Have you figured it out or would you like some help figuring it out?

The scale was difficult because of the hammers and pulls. The pattern itself was fairly simple. I would focus on the pattern first, work in the hammers and pull-offs as you are able and got from there.

Hi @Goat yes, it’s tricky. I have always told people that you don’t need to master anything before moving on, but having to “Favourite” a lesson makes that less intuitive under the new system.

It’s probably worth your while looking at some of the Skills lessons before getting too hung up on the daily exercises.

    Here’s a link;

    https://tonypolecastro.com/courses/

take a look at the “Jumpstarts” in particular.

Remember, unless things have changed significantly, they will all come round again anyway.

@Goat, there is a “favorite” icon (star with circle around it.). Click on it to save a lesson, and you can come back anytime. You find what you saved int he drop-down menu next to your name and Avitar in the upper right corner and click on “My Favorites.”

Advice to try, favorite, and move on so you can come back is great advice, from my perspective.

Yeah, thank you AttyTJ. This is what i am now doing!

I think i’ve got over the,… or am getting over the transition from the old method.

i’m still sulking “a bit” 😒, but instead of being a 💩, i’m going to try to be as gracious as i can!

      Thanks again!

As an option you can down load the tab and store it on your computer. For me this is the best way to keep the lessons I can have files for skills I want to improve and the rest get stored in monthly files. I also downloaded the video files so I have the lessons at my finger tips any time I wish. Unfortunately it seems the video download option is not available under the new system. Maybe that bug will be worked out.

There are many pluses for downloading your lessons.
