30 Days to Play Question about Play Alongs

First post, new to TAC, novice guitar player question. I am currently just starting on the 30 Days to Play and I’m working on the Blues Boogey. While I am a new player I can read guitar tablature and I feel it helps me to read the guitar tablature while learning. My problem is I have printed out the tablature associated with each playalong and when I start the playalong it doesn’t seem to fit what Tony is playing. Now when looking at the tablature there is S-GT on left side of the first line of tablature and those bars of music are not what Tony plays during the playalong. Is Tony starting the playalong with the second line of tablature? Many thanks in advance for any help you can give me in this area!

@Raydar I see it that way too. Tony starts with the second line of tablature in the playback. I went along with what the tablature reads. I don’t know what SGt means. The successive play backs match the first line of the tablatures.

  When you’re on the “Learn Tab” below the video picture on the right hand side there is a Heart (favorite pick I believe) and next to it is a staff and cleff icon. Click that icon and on my computer it downloads and will open the tablature in PDF format. I kind of found it by mistake. I feel that there should be a video on how to use the page, because there seems to be some pretty neat tools. On the “play” video there is a 1x on the right lower part of the screen you can slow down or speed up the playing speed by clicking that.

  Hi @pasvorto , if you found the speed icon/button, let’s consider that within the video. If you move your mouse just below that area and outside of the video frame, you’ll see what @Raydar is explaining above👍

@Raydar Occasionally Tony does switch out a chord or note when doing the videos. You can play either way and it should work out fine.

This is not a reply but a question. I started last week. I have done the 30 day Challange, and am working through the Next 6 Chords. I cannot find any information or advice on how I should proceed in the next few weeeks and months, ie to have an overall plan. Can someone advise me how to proceed?

  The Daily Challenge will appear Mon – Fri, and you can work on that. That’s the icon with the check mark in the circle. In addition you can click on the music note on the left side that will open up the skills courses. You can take you pick from there.

  I’m in the same boat. I do the daily challenges; they are fun and not too difficult. You can attempt them at 0.5x speed, and the goal is to try something new each day. Besides that, I’m supplementing with learning songs that I think I can handle. Those are long-term projects; the challenges and lessons have priority (in that order). But it’s fun and motivating to work towards playing a song. I’m currently working my way through “runaway train”. It’s almost within reach; if it wasn’t for that one F chord in the chorus 😂It’s also fun to play using the boom-chicka pattern like in the 30 days course. I use guitartricks and ultimate-guitar to find song tabs for beginners, but google will probably work too lol

TAC Family Forums
