Concerning how long I practiced the riffs, I will quote myself from back in October 2017, when I was asked the same question:

“This solo has actually been a big eye-opener for me, as I feel I had problems with a wobbly rhythm, especially in the last third.

I had nicked some bluesy licks I already knew and put them in here – I suppose that is normal practice – but I normally play the licks at almost double speed.
It turned out to be surprisingly difficult to throw away the muscle memory and play them more slowly with the backgroud track.“

So I cheated and used some licks I already knew 😂
