Elmer Fudd Improv – Niels
Posted by Niels on May 27, 2021 at 5:46 amhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQw-NRG_RX8
My second only improv back from October 14th 2017 – just before I dropped improvs for three years.
It is fun (for me at least) to see that my sense of rhythm was more shaky then 😂-

Yet still very well put together @Niels 👍 I liked your blues bends with your pinkie. Lol as you know I’m forced too use the pinkie a lot😁 great job!👋👋

Thank you @Dan D# (damn – the @-reference thing does not seem to work with nicknames containing a space – so you will probably not be notified about this answer 🙁)
It feels a bit like cheating, just reissuing an old improv, but I only made two in 2017, and then none for the following three years, so I thought it interesting to see whether I could spot any improvement.
I played classical guitar for a long period (plus all the camp fire singing going on as well), and I think that trained my pinkie up to almost the same strength as the other three fingers .
Sorry about your loss – you are coping awesomely 😎

That was “Really Truly” nice @Niels 👏👏👏 I loved those blues riffs 👍👍 How long did you have to work on that improv before you came up with that great stuff?🤔 Enquiring guitar geeks want to know

Thank you @Bill_Brown for your kind words🙂
Concerning how long I practiced the riffs, I will quote myself from back in October 2017, when I was asked the same question:
“This solo has actually been a big eye-opener for me, as I feel I had problems with a wobbly rhythm, especially in the last third.
I had nicked some bluesy licks I already knew and put them in here – I suppose that is normal practice – but I normally play the licks at almost double speed.
It turned out to be surprisingly difficult to throw away the muscle memory and play them more slowly with the backgroud track.“So I cheated and used some licks I already knew 😂

Hey @Niels , there’s nothing wrong with using things you already know, that’s a sign of someone who pays attention to what’s going on! But all that being said, how many hours did you spend before you felt ready to record your video?🤔

Excellent as always. Niels. I loved your melody, chords, rhythm and overall very smooth and bluesy sound.
