Purchase 2nd Guitar for alternate tunings

This weekend, I purchased an inexpensive 2nd Guitar (Kona) to use for playing DADGAD songs. I’m working on “4 and 20” by Steven Stills. It sure makes it more likely for me to play/practice when all I have to do is pick up a different guitar.

I also plan to learn how to do a guitar Setup with it. Who knows, I may get confident enough to try doing a setup on my better guitar (Epiphone)….

Nice! Having two guitars is super handy when you want to use an alternate tuning. Last week when the lessons were all about drop D, it was nice to be able to tune down and stay that way instead of having to change back and forth for lessons.

  I am finding it much more convenient, too. So far, it’s encouraged me to play longer. A good thing.

I love the concept. Let’s see. Open G, open D, dropped D, DADGAD – seems like many more guitars will be needed 🙂

I’ve been keeping an eye out for a second guitar for the same thing. (Also keeping an eye out for my wife to make sure she isn’t keeping an eye out for me keeping an eye out for a second guitar.)
