  • Just abit sick (Big Win)

Well, I seemed to have gotten quite sick. So sick in fact, that my guitar sat dormant for 6 days!!! I did not even have the strength to pick it up. As a matter of fact, my wife brought it to me and I did not even want it! Not sure what I had but it was bad enough that I did not play. But, here is where the “big win” is.

Although I am still quite wore out and spent, I picked the guitar back up and was truly concerned that I would have lost all the dexterity that I gained through steady continuous structured practice…..Well, hello!!! I still was able to use what I had learned, and to be honest, I think in many aspects, I was better and more capable! Wow, as Gomer Pyle would say “Suprise Suprise”!!!

I am genuinely encouraged and even more ready to tackle some “above my capability” lessons.

    WOOOOHOOO BIG WIN

Thanks for reading, and Guitar Geeks Unite!!!!

I’m sorry you’ve been under the weather @rdf1967 , but it sounds like you’re on the mend now. Sometimes a break does us good from the guitar and things are better when we pick it back up. Take it slow since you’re still shaking whatever you had.

Shazam! Glad you better and your muscle memory didn’t have a senior moment. Recuperate quickly I pray.

Hello @rdf1967 . So you had 3 very nice wins there. First, you picked the guitar back up after a forced break. That’s great. Second, you didn’t lose your dexterity, but actually seemed to have improved after your break. But here’s the 3rd and perhaps most important win: now you are aware of this phenomenon. Don’t hesitate to use breaks on purpose for whatever reason you might have, even if it’s because your playing is becoming a little stale. Just lay off a day or 2. It can do wonders.
