SONGS
Hello TAC Family, I am a very new member and am currently in amongst the basics of the 30 Days to Play. By way of background, I have owned guitars since 1968 and I can play chords and use finger-style but apart from my younger days, I never finish anything I start. I chose Tony’s course because it took me right back to fundamentals and I am enjoying the course; paying to do so also focusses the mind! Since the start, the videos have highlighted that I will soon learn a song, but having looked through the forums, others have also asked what is already in my thoughts: where are the songs?
With the Blues, I was expecting at the end of that session to play the lead notes over the first lesson, or to play basic rhythm to the lead. Of course, I have figured out that that it is possible by using the ‘play’ button on the first blues shuffle, you can play the picked notes and lead over that. However after the chord strumming videos there doesn’t appear to be a song attached to the training.
Looking within the forums, this question has been asked before by a few people and the response seems to be that the techniques learned in TAC can then be used elsewhere. Fair enough, but my reason for joining this site was that I didn’t want to have to look on other sites, where I have already wasted so much time fluttering about on various websites without any progression. Also, recall the long intro on joining TAC, the video mentioned playing songs. The intro also mentioned ‘loads of books hardly used, videos bought and other aids long ignored’ – I am that man😂; it’s why I am here.
This is not a challenge to the course: what it offers; the quality or the TAC Family; I am sold so far. However, I thought it would be a ‘one-stop-shop’. I would be grateful if members more experienced in all the courses could advise whether songs are included, or is it solely technique.
Many thanks. Chris. (By the way, I am in UK and 7-hours ahead of Mountain time (I had to look that up!) so please don’t think me rude if replies are not answered quickly.
