Learn to love the playground.
As a child we would play in the city park and I got to know every hiding place and piece of playground equipment. After fretboard Wizard I determined to learn every note on my new playground. It wasn’t that hard. I started at the nut EADGBE. Then walked up the Low E string over time until I reached the 12th fret. Later I bounced around just picking out all the C’s, D’s, E’s, etc. or the 4(5TH fret- ADGCEA) or the 5(7TH fret- BEADF#B).
I would do this in my head in down time. I especially still do it like counting sheep if I awake in the night and want to clear my head and go back to sleep.
It was not a burden at my self pace and it has been such a useful stored bit of knowledge as I add pentatonic and other scales to my toolkit. I highly recommend it.
