sweeter spot improv
Posted by Jonathandavid on January 19, 2022 at 6:39 pmThis chord progression from Tony looped pretty smoothly and was short so I ended up doing two passes.

That’s a great improv Jonathandavid! 👏 I don’t know how you guys come up with these great improvs from a scale.

Thanks stevieblues! I just use the scale as a template and do whatever seems to fit with the chords, no doubt influenced by music I listen to. I often figure out the backing track from the scale listen too, as it helps me get the feel of the “song”

That was amazing man! I hope I can play as well as you someday. This is only my second day joining TAC. Thank you for sharing!

Good idea to do two rounds @Jonathandavid ! Sounded great nicely done. Nice change up between round 1 and 2 switching into picking notes around the chords 👍🎶

Wow! Loved the way you added strumming and used the whole neck. Nicely done.

You solo was really smooth and it fit in so well with the track.

You have really locked those scales down and it’s allowingyou to just pick where to play with confidence. I am still finding the improvs a real challenge. Just hoping Tony’s Fretboard Wizard 2.0 will come out this summer so I can start to understand the fretboard more intuitively. For now it’s just great to watch someone else nailing it!

Thanks for listening, Moonhare! I find the scales that Tony teaches really help lay the framework and then you can pretty much hit any note on that framework and it works.
