1.) How many days per week do you play?

I have made a commitment to myself to perform a minimum of 5 sessions per week but will aim for 7.

2.) What time of day do you play?

I am an amateur radio operator and participate in daily “Nets” between 7 and 7:30am each week-day morning and then walk my Labrador Retriever. I plan on playing between 8:15 and 9:15 each morning. My wife is still asleep at this time, so this quiet time gives me the ideal opportunity to go down to my basement where I keep my guitars and serenade my dog.

    3.) Where do you play?

After I retired (3 years ago), we refinished our basement. All 4 of my guitars are there along with my computer, making it the ideal space to be alone with my guitar. (except for Clara my Lab of course)

4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you?

As a teenager in the late ’60s, I played guitar in a garage band. Vietnam and life and raising my family happened and the guitar fell by the wayside. After retiring a few years ago, I had a desire to play once again. The problem was that I didn’t remember but a few songs and I found myself playing them over and over and not as good as I believed I once could. I’ve tried YouTube videos and other “guitar courses” over the last few years, but have made no progress in my guitar journey. A fellow Amateur radio operator suggested that I check out TAC, and now after having completed my “30 days to play” and armed with a commitment to a consistent guitar routine, I am ready to finally move forward.

“Sounds like a plan” @BobbyJ 👍 Cliches aside, you have the basis of a great routine. The key will be how easily you can modify it when the little things in life get in the way😱 Sh** happens🤔 In the meantime, I wish you a pleasant journey😎 and the means to perceiver when the path gets bumpy🤘

BobbyJ- First off– welcome to TAC!- (it was a great choice).

Reading your post- it makes me think/wonder how many of us have that (almost) same kind of story– Born in the 50’s, teenaged in the late-60’s and 70’s- (the era of the BEST music IMHO), sort-of played guitar when we were younger (never very well), lived our lives as maybe 50 years went by- (at lightning speed), and are now wanting to pick the guitar back up, and have been lucky enough to hear about TAC.

    The rest will be history.

I’m thankful for all the Forum-ers who hand down all the best advice, information, encouragement, direction, and insight. They settle us down when we’re on the ropes, and pick us back up when we feel like we’re beat. Wonderful stuff. The heartbeat of TAC.

BobbyJ- you have a great plan goin’ on there!
