The capo is over farther than I would prefer, but I was using 7 chords for the chorus and could not get the B7 in well with the capo closer to the fret.

That was a great original song @Philb 👏👏👏 sung and played with heart❤. I liked the mix of the percussive beat with the rhythmic style you used👍 I enjoyed listening, particularly the last line 🤣 – at some point in the afternoon hours, I get the same feeling😴. Happy birthday🎂 my friend – and hey, is that a new guitar😱 I don’t remember seeing you post with that guitar before🤔 What kind is it?

It’s a Washburn Orchestra/OM solid mahogany top acoustic electric. It is a modestly priced guitar (just a little over $500 when I got it). I have had it for about 8 months I think, and have posted before with it I believe.
I had a Taylor GS-Mini with mahogany top, but I didn’t care for the size when playing, and really thought it had a dull tone. I traded it in for this new by adding a little cash. I know from the playing in this video you can’t really tell, but it had a much nicer sound and sustain; and was much more comfortable to play for me.

Happy Birthday @Philb , I have to do the same thing with my capo. I need room for my fingers so it get pushed up on one side. Good strumming and you have your chords down great!

    I have seen some play with a capo very close to the fret; and I know that gives a better sound. I’m not sure if I will get there as these aging fingers are as flexible as they used to be. Still, it’s one of those little things I can work on.

    @Philb and @Cadgirl I just started using a Paige capo last week. They make a style of capo that is used by bluegrass pickers so I thought I would give it a try. It is ver low profile and doesn’t present the challenges of some chord shapes. Just sharing FYI.

    @Kitman , I couldn’t get the link to work for the capo you were talking about. It did take me to Paige site, so I could look at what they have to offer. I do need a new capo, mine works great but it a strain on my wrist putting it on and off. Thanks for the info.

    Shubb also makes some nice looking capos of the same style, however are a bit pricey for my wallet! 🙂
