  • Bought new guitar!

Posted by Brian-76 on February 5, 2023 at 2:30 pm

I bought the only two guitars I own about 19-20 years ago, a Taylor Big Baby and a Stratocaster. I have thought about buying a new guitar or two multiple times over the years, but never felt I was truly worthy since I was merely a lifetime dabbler. But no more! TAC has been what I’ve been missing for years that is allowing me to continually improve and have fun doing it. I am 30 days in and now am the proud owner of a Taylor 224ce Urban Ash DLX Limited Edition Grand Auditorium. The next 3-4 days till it arrives will be torturous! Thanks to Tony and the TAC community for the inspiration!

That’s awesome @Brian-76 ! Congratulations! When you receive it, let it simply rest and acclimate to the temperature and humidity in your home before unpackaging and playing it. It’s torture being patient, but it’s so that you don’t damage the guitar. Make sure you post pictures.

Good advice here, let the guitar acclimate to the new climate for at least 24 Hours before opening it to its new environment.

Congrats @Brian-76 . First the frustration. Then the awe when it comes out of its travel nation, then the joy, the the work inducing glee. Makes me kind of want to go through it again.

I fully support that idea, @AttyTJ!

Definitely feeling the frustration, I’m about 4 1/2 hours into my 24 hours of waiting to unbox…

Anticipation is part of the joy when acquiring a new guitar – worth the wait. Wishing you @Brian-76 many years of bliss and fulfillment with your Taylor.

Well, I can’t seem to get this pic to upload to save my life, and I consider myself fairly tech savvy. Will figure it out eventually!
