    I’m a bit nervous about playing by myself I would love to find a play guitar buddy even if it’s just ten mins for fun while learning. it’s just so different from playing clarinet or the flute. I know I can do this also I shouldn’t stop myself to ask for help or ask questions.

    Hey @JadeSilverwing ;

    Welcome to TAC. This is a great place to learn guitar and gain confidence. I’m sure you will have many questions the this forum can help you with.

    As far as playing/practicing with someone, that’s a little tougher. This membership is a world wide group. If you open the drop down menu beside your avatar, and go to members, you can look for members in your state and see if there is anyone near by. I’m sure there are guitar players in your local area. I’m not sure how you would go about finding people to play guitar with.

    Maybe another member can help you with part of your question better than myself.

    MG 😀

    Welcome!

    If you can’t find someone locally, maybe you can find a TAC member who you match with, feel comfortable with: and play together on Messenger, Zoom, or some other platform.
    I hope you find this community as inviting as many of us have, and find it will help you grow as a guitar player.

    Jade, I feel the same way. I am a “closet picker.”

    I play along with my music collection or find music on YouTube to use as a backing track.

    I took private guitar lessons in the late 1980s, and played with my instructor.

    I need to play within a small group collaboration, like a jam session.

    Are you located in South Florida?

    I have a life membership to TAC since September 2020, but not active until recently.

    It is a problem for me too. I’m trying out a loop machine to try to somewhat compensate.

    Hi!

    Most if not all the lessons have a “Play along” Link next to learn. So essentially you are playing along with Tony! You can adjust the speed to your comfort level. Once you’re comfortable with that level, kick it up to the next level. A great practice will be the “Daily Challenges.” My personal challenges are the “F” Chord, “A” Chord, “B” Chord. I have wide Long fingers so the difficulty level for me is frustrating. My other challenge are the Barre Chords. For me practicing 10 mins a day is not enough. So I practice in the mornings if I have time, then when I get back practice again then before bed practice a last time. Time+Practice=Success
