This is difficult!

Yep going to need more time on the B-string
-
At first of the week getting any good tone on the B string was nearly impossible for me. Now Iām getting it more often then not! Persistence is paying off!
-
I was able to get a clean ring on the F chord this morning. Crazy lean on the middle finger to get it to work! But I’m excited!

Yep, all good but the B

Ah, barre Chords. Consistency really is key to build that strength. Once the strength is there, the accuracy comes. Practice, practice, practice š

This wasnāt pretty. More practice needed but I will get there

done good on this

Good lesson. What helped me clean up the B string and rolling the index finger was repositioning the guitar. By that i mean i put the lower (big) end of body between my legs instead of hanging over my right leg. That allowed me to raise the neck up closer to my shoulder . This allowed for wrist mobility.

Ever since I was a kid, trying to play clean barre chords has been a struggle. Tony, your focus on the low E, the B and the high E as being the strings to focus on with my index finger is a huge ah-ha…thanks!
-
More success now with this barre chord but always keep up practice to assure sounding clear.

This one is getting a bit better but still not good. It’s like I can either bar with the index finger or fret with the other 3 fingers. When I combine them something suffers. When I lean my hand towards the nut I get more effective barring but mutes start appearing with my other fingers. If I straighten up my hand I can play clean notes on the top 4 strings but I’m muting the B string.
-
Same over here. I can’t get a clean note.

Thank you

Today’s lessons went well, after yesterdays challenge and having problems with the B string being mute 3 out of 4 times I thought I would try using a different guitar with a smaller radius my martin has a 16 in radius my gibson has a 12in radius, what a difference the 12in radius made I found that my bar chords now ring out clean and clear even the B string. Its amazing how one minor change can make such a big difference

I continue having difficulty getting a clear tone out of all strings, but I like this exercise and yesterday’s. For me, mastering barre chords are going to take a lot of work. These seem like good drills to practice.
