Lights of Santa Fe, Eliza Gilkyson
Posted by Loraine on January 6, 2024 at 11:51 amI really like this song. Eliza sings and plays it beautifully, but in listending to the playback, I’m really happy with my recording with my alternating base notes (could use some clarity in spots) and my vocals were okay. Hope you enjoy.

Thank you, Loraine, for introducing me to Eliza Gilkyson. Unknown to me until now.

Thank you for listening @Guitargeezer-Jack . I don’t do the song justice when compared to Eliza, but I enjoyed doing it.

I’ve seen Eliza G play several times around Austin. The first time was with her dad, Terry, at the Kerrville Folk Festival. He wrote Bare Necessities for Disney. He was the headliner and she played too. But she became a headliner in her own rite. Good choice and happy you enjoyed learning it.

Thank you @albert_d . I really like her music, because she sings about peace, love, and harmony, against war, political strife, and unfairness. It reminds me of the 60’s. I would love to see her. I’m in the process of learning a few other of her songs. I’ll post once I figure them out.

@stevieblues I received an email with your message, even though it didn’t show up here. I’m guessing you got the pink screen of hell that supposedly doesn’t really exist – haha.
