  • What's wrong with her strumming?!!

Posted by Loraine on October 1, 2024 at 4:32 pm

I’m just putting this out there. Somewhere outside of TAC, someone commented on my strumming. It does look a bit jerky when I’m playing. I’m not offended, whatsoever, by the comment/question. I just wanted to give a little explanation as to what’s going on when I strum. It’s short, but I want others to feel comfortable asking me any question they want. I welcome them, and I’ll do my best to explain anything thrown my way.

    Keep on plunking!!

    Fletchy Top Tip Lorrie…

Try a Felt Pick… (Well the idea could help a little in my head at least)

Thanks Fletchy-poo. I think I have some because of my ukelele (which has probably only seen the light of day twice in 2 years – lol). I’ll dig them out. Most of the issue has to do with being so tight from the fibromyalgia, and nothing I do allows my wrist to relax, between that and my essential tremors, there are simply days I cannot strum, and most days it looks jerky.

Hey Lorraine, You go girl!! I really admire the fact that despite some physical challenges, you just show up every day and keep at it and you don’t let that get in the way of your guitar playing at all. Awesome! Keep on Trucking

Thank you, Chuck. I appreciate that. I have no choice but to keep moving forward. If not, it’s simply sit and rot. That’s not an option. My neurologist tells me all the time to keep playing the guitar. It is one of the best things I can do.
